Out of curiosity, where do you get your parts to redo differential, and pinion seals, not just for this vehicle but the other Toyotas that you leave in relative virgin condition? The reason I ask is that I had a 84 Toyota Pickup given to me, which by and large is in great condition, but does need new seals, hoses, etc, but I'm kind of nervous about going to a parts store and having the counter-people look them up.

I've always liked Toyota Land Cruisers, but for some reason, I've never seen a pickup truck version. Why Toyota discontinued the pickup truck version is beyond me. What I like about Land Cruisers of the 60s through the 80s is that they're fairly basic, quite utilitarian. That's what a truck should be. That's what an SUV should be. You provide your own creature comforts, Toyota shouldn't have to do that. If a diesel engine was available as an option, I'd go for it in a heartbeat.

I wonder if I could find an old body and put it on a new special chassis?
