That's a wonderful truth in aging. I'm gonna be 63 in May. I know its TMI, but whether it's a bona-fide log? Or a release of toxic gas? It's a relief. First thing the doctors and the visiting nurses want to know. How's your bowels and when was your last movement? That's a great looking old Mack! You guys going to York, PA show?
Brakes look in great shape can you still get parts shoes/drums etc... for this set-up?? I have Kelsey Hayes disc's on mine that at some point I need to convert ugh! Although I won't ask your dad to help with the questionable air quality lol!!
The linings are bolt on. I know you can get them pretty easily. They bolt on the shoes with brass bolts. The rest you can find, not sure how easy. There is a guy up here in Pottsville that can get a lot of stuff. I can't remember his name, but he's in an old bakery on I believe Bakery Road
@@Only4Trucks I really didn't think he used that truck for any kind of work in the past 30 or so years. I remember it being multicolor with primer and I think with the old bed back when he lived behind the funeral home
Because the truck will sit more than it's driven and instead of that leading to leaky seals, the grease will always remain and never cause us to change seals due to sitting around
I learned to swing on a quad box in that very truck. Gus was still working it. It was like 3 colors back then. We're talking 1984 or so. He knew exactly what paint job he wanted ..Chevy Blue with the Grey stripes. Miss Gus , he was a good dude!! He had a GMC crackerbox with a DD he drove around too. If I remember that B61 is a SX triple frame. 673 with a 20speed quad.
Wow that's history there that's awesome! He was an awesome guy! I'm glad you saw our video and could enjoy to see the truck again! There will be plenty more of it!
@@joecummings1260 I think it was a DM800 and it was when they were building the Gallery. It was a huge pit they dug out for the foundation. I met him in 80 or 81, I was 12 or 13. He was driving for Micheal his brother. They were digging up the street in my neighborhood in Southampton and it was a red DM800 with Micheal R Nugent on the side. I thought he told me it used to be his truck but sold it to his brother. At that time me and my buddy would ride the train to Newtown and the dump trucks would go through the center of town ( before the bypass i believe) by the dozens hauling out of Rushland. We would sometimes see Gus and hop in with him. Other times we would ride our bikes down to Andalusia to his mom's house and see him. There were lots of Mack dumps back then all over. One that sticks out was a dark green DM600 with Canadian maple leafs behind the side dogs on the doors. Morrissey had all DM dumpss and R model trailer dumps.. it was a great time to grow up watching trucks.
