1965 Mack B61 Gets A Little More Love Before It Hits The Road Again! 

OMG, what a stunning Mack. When I was a kid these were everywhere on the west side of Chicago. Some were even configured as garbage trucks in the city's fleet. Back then I never has a second thought of how flippen awesome they might be in 2024. Absolutely gorgeous guys.. Congrats and thanks for keeping Mack history alive and well.

Worked in bottling plant for Cumberland Farms and they had a bunch of B model Macks back in the late 60's. I was night forman and backed all the trucks up to the docks to load milk,chocolate milk in glass bottles stacked in crates on dollies. Was my first rided in B Model Macks. It was heaven. That is how i learned to back up trailers in a real congested yard. I can still put a trailer in places that seem impossible. The money i made there put me thru college.

The B model has to be one of the most iconic if not the prettiest truck ever built. They were damn tough I know that.

Own 1962 b62 triplex Thermodyne 15 speed. Was my. Grandfathers when he was living here at scrap yard. I redone it rebuild motor and trans was good they put it out of service in mid 70s park in garage till I rebuilt it in mid 80 s. Once in a while I hook tub trailer to it run load number 1 to pier. Ride u never forget lol

Hello. Just found your channel. I grew up in B model when my dad drove back in the day . Really nice truck guys . Bearing failure is the number one reason for rease and seal to start leaking . If you see any Metallic in the gear oil that would be the bearing breaking down. It don't take long for a new seal start leaking if the bearing is failing. I'd say the bearing is the reason why for so little travel and it leaks. Take care

Beautiful Truck , made my morning coffee break. Watched my buddy over the course of couple yrs tear down all the way to the frame and rebuild a 61 B, was also blue. Watched him some days use a wire brush on a single bolt for hours. They use it to haul top soil , fire wood and gravel a few times a year because customers loved seeing that truck pull in there yard. What a BEAUTIFUL piece of Americana you have and thanks for sharing it with us. Keep up the gd content kid, and listen to pops about a simple shirt or hat.

Gotta show the "torque" procedure on that sx rear. Not many people work on those knock aparts anymore and have never seen it done. Might shed some light on why some procedures are the way they are now. I like the science shirt idea. 😂 kinda like swindell speed labs logo. Have to add the pa dialect to "sciens"

If that Mack was originally dark green it might be an old W F Finn truck he hauled asphalt out of Gloucester Twp in the 60s

Same wheel seal as a few years ago? Check that the vent on that rear isn't blocked up. That damn wheel and drum are over 300 pounds BTW lol. I always left the tires on and pulled the wheel drum and tires off all together using a grease board. (Poor man's wheel dolly).
