First time I’ve heard anyone play “Lenny” on a mustang and I gotta say I absolutely loved it.

I bought mine in 1966 and I am still playing it!

Looong before Cobain, Frusciante, et al mounted the trend-wagon of offset guitars, Todd Rundgren had done so, and in the era of ubiquitous Les Paul/Strat usage when it was totally a maverick move. But, then, Todd was ahead of the curve with almost everything, anyway.

Great video! Impressive pickin'! I have a '65 Mustang in blue. It's also all original and in amazing condition with the original case. I've had it for 37 years! Nice to see more appreciation for these cool guitars. Thanks for the great vid! Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much, means the world to me!!! Glad to hear from a fellow mustang enthusiast, 37 years is a lot of history with one guitar. That’ll be me one day, I cant imagine ever selling mine. Stay groovy

I have a much older brother who got a Daphne Blue Mustang for Christmas when he was 12 (1967). He told me it was considered a starter guitar for kids. Our parents paid $188 at a local record store, and it included a Recco amp - which was basically a car speaker in a giant box. I now own and play it. Like you, the guitar is all original parts, a white spiral chord, and a hard case. My only complaint is that the pickup switches oxidize, but other than that, I still play it.

Great video Ryan!! You have a way to explain things that it is very easy to understand and nice to listen to. You should definitely make more reviews of different guitars . 👏👏👏

Update: did not expect 47 views LMAO. Just a school project of mine. Id love an old telecaster too, love the mid 50’s white guards, and even the mid 70’s “tele-customs” with the humbucker in the neck.

Key to this guitar is its short scale! Did you mention that?

I have that exact guitar and have since new, but changed to Seymour Duncan Humbucker pickups about 20 years ago. However, ever since new, it ALWAYS goes out of tune when using the tremolo bar. Every guitar shop I've had it to says that's "normal" because of the floating bridge. Kind of disappointing.
@ryanwalsh2455
@ryanwalsh2455 2 месяца назад
Mine does the opposite! Mine stays perfectly in tune after tremelo use. Could be a lubrication issue with nut or string tree, or even bridge. But im sure you’ve tried a bunch of stuff already lol. Maybe your’s was a “friday” guitar
@christopher4207
@christopher4207 2 месяца назад
@@ryanwalsh2455 Actually, I've never tried lubing it anywhere. I rarely play it these days, though. So, you think lubricating the string tree would make a difference? There's an awful lot of movement in the bridge.

@@christopher4207 I’d recommend putting a little bit of vasoline under the string tree, and pensil graphite in each nut slot, as well as the bridge saddles. That will definitely help. But not guaranteed to fix everything. Let me know if it works!

N, B, N+B, N-B is 4 sounds not 8, am I right? Very nice demo, thank you!
@ryanwalsh2455

Technically, each pickup does sound slightly different depending on direction/polarity of the pickup. Its arguably only 4 sounds tho!
