What an absolutely stunning car to look at, it looks fabulous even w/o a vinyl roof. Pontiac knew how to build a car back in the day, it's a pity you won't see anything that gorgeous anymore!!
Wow! We had a '66 BONNEVILLE BROUGHAM 2door. Same color. Power everything. Windows, vent windows, door locks, trunk, antenna, auto air, am/fm w/reverb. That car was literally a 1 in 10,000 build. So totally silent and smooth
I agree. Especially here in the gulf south where I live. No AC was actually quite common back in those days. High altitude and northern latitudes it was hard to justify an expensive option that was needed only a few times a year. Another thing I noticed especially with Pontiac you couldn't get AC with with the top perf HO stick cars
My neighbor had a 66 Bonneville he bought new. He traded it in on a new 77 Bonneville Brougham with the 350 Pontiac 4 barrel. My dad bought a 77 Trans Am with the 400 that became my first car. Love those Pontiacs . 😎
It’s amazing if you look close you’ll see Buick and Oldsmobile in this Poncho. Pretty good looking car. Just as beautiful as any Buick or Oldsmobile of same year
My friends father bought a 66' Oldsmobile 98 Luxury Sedan off the showroom floor. Loved that luxury cruiser. But I can appreciate this Pontiac. Would be nice if it was loaded but still a very nice automobile
Nice. Someone where I used to go to school had one exactly like this, and same color combo, though his had the original vinyl top. This car is in amazing condition. Thanks for the video!
Paul Cheek The crap they call full-size today was practically a compact in those days. I remember these beauties. From riding in friends 66’ Oldsmobile 98 to Aunt’s 70’SedanDeville to uncle’s 68’ Bonneville to uncle’s 69’ Eldorado to gmpa 55’ Belair 57’ Chevy to 73’ Oldsmobile 98 Regency to ‘68’ Riviera to 61’ Impala SS Convertible to 64’ Malibu SS to 71’ Buick Lesabre to 64’ Impala white 2-door blue slate interior 3 on tree the other 4-door very grandpa-ish lol it was gmpa. 70’ Oldsmobile 88, 67’ Caprice black on black with buckets and console, 67’ Caprice 4-door (took my drivers test in this), 59 Caddy, 64 1/2 Mustang and a 66’ red, 67’ dark purple and 67’ mustang fastback in blue. 67’ Cougar, 66’ nova, 68’ Cutlass, 69’ Cutlass, 71’ Cutlass, 53’ Willy’s Jeep, 66’ Plymouth, 67’ Buick. Those were what I remember from childhood if I continue the list goes on and on if lifetime. Ever think of all the different cars you ridden in. Think about it.
This car doesn't appear to have air conditioning either. I'm from the South and even in 1966 most upper medium priced cars were ordered with optional air conditioning. The original bottom line sticker on this car considering that a base 66 Bonneville 4 door hardtop started at $3428 barely cleared $4400.
Was hoping this beauty might again see the light of day and be offered for sale again . . . . . and that I could buy it. But, according to the dealer (now out of business) who sold it, this car went to Australia. CRAP!!!
Long, low and sensuously sleek. More pronounced because of the skirts and the wonderful lower chrome trim. These Pontiacs, without thier skirts on, well " it's just not proper" lol
No the Brougham trim package was offered on Bonneville 4 door hardtops starting in 64 and went through 70. It was a stand alone option that did not include power windows and seats. Bonnevilles came standard with 389 4 Bob V8, 3 speed manual transmission, manuel steering and brakes during this time frame. They were not in the same price class as Olds 98, Buick Electras and Chrysler New Yorkers.
This is REALLY weird. Power windows were standard in a Brougham.Top is painted instead of vinyl. Must of been a special order one by a cheapskate that wanted to look fancy but didn't want to spend the money.
Power windows were not included in the Brougham package offered in 1966. Bonnevilles without options in 66 came with a 389 4bbl V8, 3 on the tree, manuel steering and Manuel brakes. Full wheel covers and rear fender skirts were standard. These cars were a notch or two below the Buick Electra 225, Olds Ninety Eight, Chrysler 300 and New Yorker. Bonneville's direct competition was the Buick Wildcat, Mercury Park lane and Olds Delta 88. With the Brougham package added on it was priced similar to a Buick Wildcat Custom.
Nice car but was never a fan of any Pontiac. Division always had any identity crisis. You can see a lot of borrowed Cadillac styling cues in this car. Always preferred Oldsmobile and Buick myself
Thanks for discontinuing Pontiac Mary Barra. Hope you enjoy making all those shit pile Chevy's GM seems to always have such a huge boner over. This was a car. They used the same engine block for four different performance engines back then; from a 279hp all the way to the tri-carb monster they put in the 2+2. High performance backed by intelligent and economical thinking. Enjoy your Chevy Traverse Mary. Better get that always dead right tailight fixed though
