It was raining all week and I worked on removing the interior and inspecting the floors and boot of the car. When the weather allowed I pulled the bonnet out on the driveway again and stripped the rest of it. Let's see what I found under the paint

The whole translation: "1000 Miles (First) Inspection. Ratteling on window removed. Cable on Odometer attached. Door lock attached. Window freed up. Brake squeal removed. Wiper arms adjusted. Numberplate lights attached. Second Gear checked, freed up. Labour free [of charge]. Oil change (self) and Car greased DM 8,-- 5x Grease Fittings DM 4,--" So it was DM 8 for Labour and DM 4 for Replacement parts. Bargin by today's standards :D

That panel in the passenger footwell is original, it was a factory option passenger foot rest.

Had a GT6 and sold it for £250 in 1984..rust free, but needed a drive shaft..when you look back, some of the cars and bikes from back in the day, that are fetching serious money now..you couldn't give TR7s away..Lol.🇬🇧

Lots of issues at the 1,600 km service, including window that had to be repaired, windshield wiper adjusted, speedometer cable fixed, something with the brakes, a door lock that had to be re-fastened, license plate lights re-fastened and even second gear had to be fixed. Everything was done under warranty. The 5 schmiernippel are lubrication nipples ('zerk fittings') for greasing, probably in the suspension or driveshaft.

That metal foot rest is original, was also in my GT6... Kaiserslautern:) Thats where I went to University , small world. The guy must have joined the Army at the time. AF licence plates were „american Forces“ from the US Airbase at Kaiserslautern

They weren't on every car, though.

Strange that the passenger side wing was replaced with a rusted one. Maybe couldn’t afford a new one.

I wonder how you pronounce the name of the garage that did that first service?!!! It's great that you have those original documents, it certainly adds interest to the car when one day it is sold on. Good luck from Spain!!

Elin I really think you should wait before going deeper and deeper into this car, it will end up being another full rebuild not a 1 week running repair for a friend. You should finish your GT6 and let your friend drive it... it seems wrong that you were given the car to restore and use and it is just sitting for 2 years while you have other distractions.

It was never intended to be a 1 week running repair. Both my friend and I knew what we are getting into and that it would take months. So no surprises here. Unfortunately my RU-vid channel is far from supporting itself financially and even farther than providing something for my family, so I have no choice but to prioritize other peoples projects over my own.
