Why two decks separated by the 2x4 spacer?

Hi Russell With this system the higher level dolly setting is for rolling the car height only.. Lifting height is about one inch from saddle of the rotisserie to the dolly Easy lift. The lower height on the dolly is for re-assembly of the suspension componants The car can then be jacked from the dolly to the ground when wheels are installed

Hello Mike, Thanks you for your prompt respond, FYI I own a 1983 SC and after having it for almost 10 year parked in my garage, I decided to restore the front and back suspension of my car. To be honest, your videos have inspired me to do my own work. They are well explained in detail step by step of high quality, work of art. My goal is to replace all the necessary parts and refurbish some if possible So, I will appreciate it if you could guide me on how to clean and which product to use. The following picture, not from my car, shows the parts that I have in my project list. Thank you once again and keep up the magnificent work. image.png

Hello Fernando Thank you congratulations on taking on your suspension yourself! Im confident you will be able to get thru it masterfully. Im not able to see the image..can you send a viewable link ..example drop box or something similar? I think your first step wold be to take lots of pictures of disassembly and then clean parts with a good parts cleaner or gasoline then soapy water rinse. Paint strip with chemical stripper..wash again soapy water rinse and then media blast to bare metal. After that the rest is easy!

Hi Mike, why do you epoxy coat? I have a 71T I’m re-painting.
@MikesRestorations
@MikesRestorations 4 года назад
Hello dtownLayowns Seasons Greetings! Epoxy is considered to be a sealer in addition to a high build high quality sandable primer base. Your other option for priming bare metal would be an etching primer followed by high build 2k primers for body work. Etching primer is good but doesn't stick well to body work if you are using body fillers. In this case you will have to spray around those areas. Epoxy covers everything and cures incredibly hard. Etching primers do no seal the car completely from moister underneath. If you decide to spray out epoxy please be sure to follow the spec sheets to the letter and re-coat time windows. After you have gone past these windows for finish paint the surface becomes to hard and slick. The base color will not stick. When you are ready to spray make sure you have sufficient time and materials to move thru the finish coats before these time windows expire. Other than that you will love how easy it sprays out and working with it. Good Luck on your 71T! beautiful car

Amazing work as ever Mike, you're an amazing fabricator. You use epoxy before primer on the outer panels?

Thank you for this video. Been searching for a swb bolly measurements and this is very helpful. Question, do you bolt down the frame or the belly pan to a dolly when setting on top?
@MikesRestorations

Hi Jesse Welcome to the channel! You're welcome=) You might have a look at video 15 talking about the undercoating process In that video I go over some upgrades to the dolly. No need to bolt down your car..It will hold your car steady and balance nicely Good Luck!
