It's only worth it's weight in gold but copper rather which is Italian shower heads and copper chairs jeweled and couches bedecked with gold, un peau le beaute and trimmed with lace is her gown and chiffon rayon and taffeta! MY FAVORITE part of the film is when she meets him and he holds her hand against the wall and they could've washed their cheveaux which is French for hair and in Paris pevereaux and their face and body only in ireland and body and face. They could've showered with pitchers and bath tubs and showers could be around 1820, 1800, and 1577 ad!
It’s a great touch how Juliet keeps giving Romeo second looks after first glimpsing him. Even though his mask is on and she can’t fully see his face, she is still drawn to him, just as he is to her.
I love how Rosaline briefly covers the view before dancing away and Juliet is revealed dressed in bright red. So well shot. The music compliments the scene beautifully too!
My teacher put this video on to play during lunch in high school ten years ago....and as I was walking out to go eat and f around with friends, I saw Juliet......and I honestly had a Romeo moment....and sat and watched the whole movie....I didn't even eat......it was like a ton of bricks hit me. Juliet...wow. I still remember the feeling.
That's the one thing that almost all of the students in my class said back in high school when I watched the movie in English. Personally I don't really see how they look alike. 😕
I think Olivia was 15 or 16 when she filmed this movie and was 17 when it was released. Regardless, no girl any of those ages should have hair and skin that perfect!
This is such beautiful dialogue for Romeo here. I get chills every time he says the final lines, with the mask off. And NOT because HE is beautiful there, but because it's good writing!!
I believe most are going on a single interview where the hair styles were similar, and I would guess never saw the movie where I see no resemblance . Their faces are totally different; to me, Zac was cute when he was younger, but Leonard at that age had what I would term a classically handsome face with more chiseled features and jaw line. When I have pointed this out before a girl admitted that in the movie she really didn’t think they looked alike like she thought they had in that 1967 interview.
@@eveeo2217 My high school English Lit class was all bused 50 miles to the theatre when this movie was being shown - in 1968. The movie had just been released on October 8 and we got to see it almost immediately after that.
@Treert1256 hey if you like the the background music playing before that it's on sale on iTunes. It's called 'Did My Heart Love 'Til Now?'. The Prague Philharmonic did an entire album based on rota's work and the movie. it's really nice. i love this scene.
Soooo, Romeo went to the party to try to talk to Rosaline. Who is actually in center frame just before Juliet comes in. I just saw an explanation video of how Romeo is a fuckboi. 😂
@BJORT Why are you acting like a 12 year old on this? Yes. We know technically Efron looks like HIM. Regardless- they look alike and your childish way of calling one guy that looks a lot like another a "horse" is simply stupid. I'm a straight male, but Zac Efron is an attractive dude. Am I a fan? No. But from this video, this Romeo is no better of an actor- so stop with the double standard.
Hey there! The video I just released is all about a genuine crime documentary and took up a solid 14 hours of my time. Your insights are crucial, so don't hesitate to provide any positive or negative thoughts. Stay in good health, and I'm excited to hear your insights.
@xPeaceLuvMus1c I agree, but it's the other way around. In fact, I'm thinking that there's only a few "types" that everyone gravitates to. This is one of them. If you look at pics of a young Anne Margaret, you'll see Lindsay Lohan, etc. Donny Most = Red Buttons, and so on.
@xPeaceLuvMus1c Actually he really doesn't. He looks like the kid from 1960's "Flipper" img59.imageshack.us/img59/6728/picture53g.png see for yourself. He looks nothing like Leonard Whiting, or Leonard doesn't look like him!
A beautiful film.. and from a different time. But still, I think these scenes get too much credit. There is no way that one could say the chemistry in this first meeting scene is even nearly as intense as in Baz Luhrmann's. This doesn't give me that 'love at first sight' feeling at all. The music is not intense enough either, in both Luhrmann's and the 2013 version the music suitable and this particular scene is executed much better. I'd say the real chemistry and compatibility between Leonard and and Olivia was certainly the strongest, and their youth is certainly apparent, however the direction of many of their romantic scenes simply isn't as breathtaking. All 3 of the adaptations (I don't include any earlier than this, because i don't like them very much) have their strong points, for this version, the romantic scenes are not done so well.
@Ivan Renard I did watch Baz Luhrmann's when I was a kid though, so it may have been just me being immature as heck, but I could not take the film seriously at all and kept laughing because they were all speaking Shakespearean English while running around modern day New York (?) in Hawaiian shirts or something
