Eugene:You're certainly in gr8 hands with your '69 Dodge Charger 500 at Nick's garage. Your car is undergoing a restoration second to none. I'm very sure you're looking forward to seeing it completed and on the road again. I can only imagine what the cost will be. In regards to cost, you have one good advantage in that you're paying with $US converted into $CAD funds. It's a heck of a lot cheaper this way. If it were the other way around it would be a lot more expensive. Happy new year and happy motoring when you get the car back 😀🇺🇸💯👍.

I used to work at an assembly plant. We ran 55 cars an hour. That's a little over a minute to complete your job. A little over a minute to install a headliner. When you do the same thing every day, 55 times an hour, you get real good at it. Great show as always Nick.

Was the 500 solely built on the production line or was the back window mods and grille done off the line?

@@richvandervoort2950........Good Point. The 500 was sent to Creative Industries for the Back Glass and front grille conversion. How long did it take them for the headliner ?

Nick is so right about headliners. Ivan is a master! The two and a half day nightmare of my 63 Belvedere wagon was so different from the cardboard and foam of a 79 Firebird. Eugene was wise to choose Nick's team of true craftsman.

When I had my 1963 Grand Prix's Interior redone. I spent time and searching to find the pieces and then I went to the Upholstery shop in town. The Place was around before I was born.. The owner Said that My car would be his last Job. It took him a couple of weeks but the Insides looked brand new.. This included him rebuilding my Door covers from scratch and from the Ones I had found and provided.. The first car show in town he showed up and was happy to see his final job actually being shown for all to see.

As someone who has watched several upholstery restorations, it's interesting to be able to follow his work and know what he's doing. For some strange reason I do tend to follow upholstery really well, even though I haven't really had to work on it before. As always, there's no good teacher like personal experience. It's definitely looking great.

Beautiful job. Foolishly I tore down my headliner in my 70 1/2 Z28 in 1981. What a job especially not knowing each bow had specific location. My wife sewed a headliner from taking apart the old one stitch by stitch and making a pattern back in the late 90's for my 440 powered 67 Dart 270.

Goood New Year Monday morning!!! It’s a pleasure to start off with Nick’s garage and the first step on the Charger 500!!! A thought occurred to me as I listened to George, Nick, Ivan and Robert describing what was involved in putting the headliner in: to complete this car is going to take a TEAM, a team where everyone involved will be doing THEIR PART with PASSION!!! And the first two players, Ivan and Robert, played at the PRO level: I know that Nick will be sure and pick teammates (however many as he deems necessary) who LOVE what they do to help him finish this masterpiece!!! And George, I know you’ll bring us the best as you showcase and highlight all the hard work that will go and has ALREADY gone into this special project!!! KUDOS TO ALL OF YOU!!! Thank Eugene for serving. Both my Uncles served in Vietnam, an Uncle in the Air Force that did something with radar deployment and I had an Uncle, now passed away who served on a Hospital Ship the USS Sanctuary. Can't wait for the test drive of this car.

From the Space Coast of Florida: Love it sir! Just me again as a young Dodge salesman in 1969 that drove a XX29 (order code) as a demo for a year. Thanks for the post!

Was fortunate to meet Ivan a month ago with my friend François at his upholstery shop, he's a down to earth guy and won't settle for less than perfection... I was blown away when he showed us his special parts that he made himself for his 62 Lincoln 4 doors convertible... those part are not available repro but he made them exactly like the original.... 2 thumbs to Ivan .... 👍👍

Kar Kraft built the Boss 429 Mustangs for Ford. Great video. Yes I'm that old to remember my friends working there.

A very good video to start off 2022, since I will never own a charger 500, really enjoy watching this car go together plus may get some great tips for repairing my old mopar too. Thankyou.

How long did you have your 71 Hemi Cuda? Matching numbers Nick?

Yes it was matching, 1 repaint when he bought it, original interior, trim and suspension.. bought it in the early 1970s, Nick and his brother modified and street raced the car for many years before putting it back stock and selling it.

Looks like you and your team are nice and warm inside and hard at work for the new year. 👍👍 You like snowballs Nick have a 10 minute friendly snowball fight outside with your crew at the end of the week to unwind. Nice work on the charger 500.👍👍

What makes this build so special for the viewer is the story behind it, the owner and circumstances surrounding the car. Way to go Nick! 👍

Still a ways to go, but it's slowly coming together, and all the assembly is adding up. Another week, more will have been done, then another month, the 500 will be getting much closer to being complete and then all the final pieces will be assembled and ready to roll down the street for a shakedown cruise and any final touches. A labor of love for sure
