It looks very restorable to me. From a bodywork standpoint I find that original untouched cars are so much nicer to work on than cars that have been previously repaired and "restored". It's also much easier to show the client how much work is required because nothing is hidden. It's hard to explain to a customer that their nice shiney "restored" car with a couple rust blisters is a cobbled together mess underneath.

Nick , you name that Charger right . I can see the oh man ,what did I get into look, but also the look of experience, knowledge, and the Can Do attitude. I would save it ,if it can be saved . But I'm not the one doing the work, planning, and long days on it . I fully understand where your coming from too Nick . We ain't getting any younger . You are also correct on finding people, body shops, the Old School Crowd to help . I hate to admit that too . If I was 35 years younger and no injuries...I would packup my bottom and top box ,head your way and beg for a job . You have to get me a bed in the shop and you wouldn't be able to run me off with a stick !!!!!!! That's the truth 💯...Yall have a great week Nick and Krew ...be safe .

Hello Nick, I have been Certified General Motors Body & Paint Technician for 40 years & have done about 20 frame off restorations. What bothers me is how bad the roof is , especially where the front & rear glass mount areas just to start with. Once you clean up the dash area the metal might be compromised from urine etc. I don't know what might be left after dipping, sandblasting can tear away some good metal that is thinned out. Truthfully the time & material would be very expensive . This is just my observation opinion. The rest my friend is up to the Body shop. Stay safe and well & warm. Signed John ( Dr. Olds) Gregory from Munster Indiana. U.S.A.

@@canabox7112 Yeah, he will soon learn that it is far less expensive to buy an already restored car than it is to pay for a full restoration. I've been there, done that. I'm not sure why he chose this particular car to sink his money into. If it had sentimental value, then I could understand. But he's only had this car for a few years. I don't fault him for wanting to save it from the crusher, but I just hope he knows what he is getting into.

As far as the nest goes, I've been in the automotive service/repair industry for over 13 years and you see all sorts of animal garbage at times. Eventually, you're like 'yep, there ya go.' Getting back to the '70 Charger R/T: do try and save it. Not many of these gems are still rolling around. Majority now are locked up in museums or sealed in airtight bags to never see the light of day again. The one's that are left, it's an honor to see what joy the automotive industry had created at a time when life was different, not to mention it's a different culture in its own.

I've worked on few projects that had worse rat nests than that, including my own VW square back . That one had rat droppings everywhere,up in the hood lining even!. And Stink!!. And close to 100mm deep on the floor .Rat urine is incredibly corrosive which could be what happened to the interior floor and up in the roof of the R/T...(R/a/T ? ) .

Yeah, it's worth doing if someone has the vision and the resources to hang in there to see it through. I think the car landed in the right place to see it transformed from dirt to diamonds! It is definitely interesting how the car is rotted the way it is in certain places, but not the other usual areas you would normally see rust. That back window pocket area is really the worst of it as far as the amount of work needed to fix that right. That rat condo in the dash is really a nice one! That will be quite a job in itself to restore. Destructive little critters they are. Have fun with this one Nick!

Nick, in my opinion you have to restore it... As soon as you laid your hands on that car you owned it... It was meant to be..!!! The DODGE GODS are not ready for you to retire since your blood is tainted with DODGE BLOOD... !!!! I know this will be one more of your Master pieces...!!!! Can't wait to see you deliver another master piece before you retire...!!!! P.S. TRUCK DRIVING IS IN MY BLOOD, I CRAVE IT AND WILL KEEP ON TRUCKING UNTIL MY MIND, BODY AND SOUL TELLS ME OTHERWISE... !!!! I FEEL THE SAME ABOUT YOU..!!!! YOU SIR WONT STOP UNTIL YOUR MIND ,BODY AND SOUL TELLS YOU OTHERWISE....!!!!! YOU SIR ARE ONE OF A HANDFUL OF OLD SCHOOL RESTORERS LEFT ON THIS EARTH...!!!! MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR TALENTS...!!!!

Man, that's enough to make you reconsider retiring! So odd the erosion is not consistent throughout the body. Sure hope Stephan has deep pockets! Nick, listening to you opening the letters and gifts shows your deep love for these beautiful cars and your dedicated customers and viewers. Thanks for staying around for us.

I'd love to watch what goes into restoring a car in that condition, and I love the way y'all present it in your content. Love seeing it done right with the attention to detail and love you put into making it right.

Nick's Garage is the best When you're restoring an oldschool car you might encounter a rats nest but it's a responsibility to remove any unwanted house guest that's why it's always Nick's Garage who I suggest They're gonna cut out the old and weld in the new A day in the life of Nick and the crew With a rat's nest like that cleaning it out first is all you can do

Hey Nick, you caught me by surprise with this Wednesday bonus video. This 70 R/T is going to need a massive amount of work to complete the restoration. The body will spend a lot of time on the frame table while the body panels are being replaced. Stephane I wish you the all best with your project. You have made the right choice by choosing Nick's Garage for your restoration, just as I did many months ago. I enjoyed seeing mail time again, and a big thank you to Anthony for sending the red pie tin to complete my engine.

That R/T Charger, when finished I, know will blow people's minds. The owners did the right thing, by hiring you and your talented crew. For your knowledge, expertise, dedication, and love, and attention to detail. You and your crew will have that R/T Charger, looking good and running like a scalded Dog, like she just came off the Showroom Floor. Can't wait to see and hear her run, and watch the test drive. Its going to be an Awesome episode, seeing her transformation!!!!

I’d say if you do it , charge him more than he could sell it for. It would be a kick in the butt if he just turned around and sold it knowing that you didn’t want to do this again. It should be worth it to him if he really wants it done right by you. P. S. I’d leave it the original green. I think the body lines will show better. But thats just me.
