I had 3 1969’s back in the day, each a different engine, 396, 350, 327, loved all of them. This one needs the side molding put back on.

WOW, what a car, a bigger Super Sport for the man who has a bigger family but still wants to go fast with class! Way more rare than a Chevelle SS and probably a bit cheaper to boot, a win win!!!!!!

Irony...I owned both at once, in the late '70's; got my '69 Chevelle SS396, upon graduation, in '78 & a '68 Impala SS396, the following year.
@robzilla60

Impala SS much more desirable than the Chevelle, and 69 was the last year of that in the true muscle car era, and with the optional 427 makes it even more rare. Beautiful car!

What a beauty!!!! Even more amazing is the fact that since Chevrolet built great cars like this, they built(?) cars like the Citation, Corsica, Baretta, Vega and Lumina, to name a few disasters! This Impala SS proves, they've known how to build them all along! An amazing car, no question!

I bought a '68 Impala SS396, 325hp, Turbo 400, red & black vinyl roof, immaculate, black interior, console...for $850.00, back in 1979. It had rust on the quarter panels, but all things considered, real fun to drive. The car would backfire when you dropped it into low & stepping on it...doing just that when going to see Bob Marley, passing though the old, rat hole tunnel.

Friend of mine’s Dad had one just like this except black vinyl top and 4 speed “back in the day”. Drove it like a grandma unfortunately. 427/390 Impala is a rare bird today I’m guessing. Great job on this one.

My first car was a 71 custom sport Impala white with black vinyl roof of course a two door 350 motor two speed power glide. Had 64 Vete hubcaps on her which I still have hanging up in my garage. Wasn't no SS but it got me and my buddies around with room to spare lol. Great party car✌️

That's a very beautiful Impala SS.......I have never seen a coupe SS, I'm not saying it's fake just I've never seen a coupe. I know several other owners owners and former owners and like mine they were all custom roofed same as the El Dorado Cads. But before everyone goes nuts, remember in 1969 GM was caught up in a labor strike. In order to sell cars you could practically order anything option wise on and with any body style. So seeing different in a Impala SS is not a surprise at all. I was just pointing out the his car may be rarer than you think? Also the Impala was never finished in a Chevrolet factory, but in several out sourced GM plants like Dorsey Bus Co. Where badging and other options were installed. 1969 was a magical year for GM. Especially considering they out sold other car companies of that year.

My friends Dad had the same one. He hung his hand over the T handle in first gear and it sifted into 2'nd nearly breaking his wrist. He had no idea it shifted by itself. It was a bad car that amazed me for it size. I owned a 66 SS Chevelle 402 with all of the drag goodies from the factory at the time and I was in awe of it's power for a boat.
@Walkercolt1

You had some magical cars since Chebby NEVER MADE THEM! The 1966 Chevelle SS came with a 396 V-8 and that's ALL. I changed the oil on too many of them! Chebby never used Hurst shifters. Ford did.So your Daddy's car didn't shift itself. It's a shame how STUPID most Chebby owners prove themselves to be! Even MOPAR only used a Hurst Shifter on TWO cars they EVER sold! A $2200 option. SuperBird and Daytona with 426 Hemi option. The number sold total is in the hundreds-they are murder on the tranny synchronizers!

NICE 👍😎. Used to work with a fellow painter in the latter 90s who's parents bought him the same car in same color with a white vinyl top, factory 427 4 spd. Kid drove it a few months and eventually, sold it to another painter. Last I heard, early 2000s Randy still had it. That's a nice one there, now 🤘🔥🤘

Ahhh . A 69 impala, my first car! Now this ones just a tad nicer than mine 😂. Mine was an old ex-taxi. 4doors with a 327. Even after full tune up I was baffled why it wouldn’t reach 100mph? With hood up and manually working the throttle it sounded like a beast. (That was the 💡 moment.) After removing 6 sample floor mats from under the throttle pedal, all of which were so full of years of dust to each weigh at least 10lbs. Suddenly I had more travel on the accelerator 🤦‍♂️. And just like that ‘The Beast’ was born! 2 after market windshield washer pumps mounted on the fire wall, 1 for whisky and 1 for vodka. A salvage yard extra from seat with the fold down arm rest divider accessing an angle iron rack in the trunk that held 2- 24’s of beer. The roof rack off an impala wagon, for highway ‘surfing’. Various bullet holes from being drunken country idiots. It even had spray on Similar-Chrome steel rims (cuz it was cool!). Oh to be so young and dumb again! That was back in 82/83, I was 15 when I got The Beast. Such a fun crazy car.

Beautiful Impala SS with the perfect rumble... and it's the Sport Coupe which I always thought looked aesthetically better then the Custom Coupe.
