1969 Ford F100 2002 Ford Lightning Chassis Swap Supercharged 5.4 Part 1 of 6 V8 Speed & Resto Shop
We build custom cars and trucks at the V8 Speed & Resto Shop, and here, the V8 Speed & Resto Shop Crew swapped a 1969 Ford F100 Ranger cab and bed on a 2002 Ford Lightning chassis with a supercharged 5.4 V8 to create "ThundersTruck", a restomod truck that looks like 1969 but drives like a modern lightning. The entire 2002 chassis was used, including the supercharged 5.4 liter V8, E4OD overdrive transmission, ABS brakes, and suspension from the Lightning while keeping the stock envelope of the 1969 F100 Ranger. In this installment, we start the disassembly to put these two trucks together.

Great idea, First pickup I remember riding in was my dad's 72 Ford work truck. Nice to get rid of that old I-beam suspension.

Very nice '69, hopefully the appearance doesn't change too much and a period looking wheel can be sourced to bring it all together. The '62 Falcon fender ornament as a hood ornament is a nice touch.

This is a great Idea that way you get the looks of a old school pickup but the performance and handle of a modern truck.

ford needs to back up the time like the dodge chargers. f100 look with the modern technology of horse power and suspension. the ford lightning wouldn't have a chance. 500 hp in a f100 with ac. power seats etc....old school with a tweak...lol

Seems like they do this alot with trucks, but I want to do this with so many Cars its not even Funny. I want to put a 2G Eclipse body on something more reliable like a Toyota or something, I want to put a 69 Charger on a new one.

The 1999-2004 SVT Lightning(s) came with 18 inch wheels from the factory, not 20 inch wheels as stated in this video. Get it right! There are some 20 inch replica wheels available on the aftermarket, not factory.
