Symphony to ears. Agree with the note below: big engine rumble is therapeutic, heals soul and brings smile to our faces. These cars are better than hybrids - they charge OUR life batteries:-)
Definitely. I had a 69 hemi orange super bee until recently. Couldn't go anywhere without several long conversations with strangers about it. Miss it already. Swapped it for a 70 mustang fb.
I dunno man, if I saw an E-type, Merc 300sl or bmw 507 here in America I'd turn my head so quick I would snap my neck. Point being, there are plenty of sexy European classics 🤣
@Mitch Hart I agree. I was was born in 89. Times are crazy now. At least my pap is almost done restoring his 69 Camaro. Imma drive it and take blondes for a ride.
@Mitch Hart good to hear someone your age is that wise .. I was born in 94 and I completely agree with you.. GOD help us all In this crazy world .. people are like robots 🤖
My dad had a 1969 Plymouth GTX basically same car just trimmed out different! Even had the 440 super commando, Bought it brand new off the showroom floor in Dearborn Michigan! Raced it at Detroit drag way ran 12’s all the time and drove it to work at Chrysler on Monday! Good old days! 💪🏼
@@theol80chefordodge71 I want a 1958 Plymouth Fury (the car in my profile picture). I've loved this car since I saw the movie Christine. I also love the 1971 Plymouth Valiant from Duel. I love the 1974 Dodge Monaco from The Blues Brothers.
When I was a young man in my early 20's my good friend who has passed on now had a roadrunner like yours orange with a black hood 383 4 speed. He would let me drive it on occasion that brought back found memories!! Thanks 😊 1979
Had a '70 Challenger RT convertible 383 that I lent to a friend while I was in Europe for the summer of '72. I'm so glad that I did that so he could enjoy it.
I remember these when they were on the road. Standing next to one you could actually feel the ground vibrating. I was only 12 years old..... I couldn't have one. 😭
In 1969 I bought a brand new Road Runner on south Western Ave in Chicago. I paid $2800 after the deal. Four speed,383, hemi suspension, air grabber, and an AM radio. No power steering or brakes. It had Goodyear F70-14s which I added Crager SS mags. Those were the days my friends.
@@timemachine20yearsago73 No. Stupidly I sold it and bought a 71 Chevelle SS which I hated. In 1995 I found another 69 Red Road Runner and sold that a few years later. I am not real bright.
@@kevo3480 btw I’m also looking for a muscle car for a future investment so if you know anybody that’s willing to sell one I would appreciate it if you told me about it
He shouldn't have hated it. A friend had a retired(sic!) '69 Dodge Monaco, an ex California Highway Patrol car he bought at auction. It was a real BEAST! CHP bought it with the 440 and dual exhaust.... genuine Hemi mufflers. Just idling it sent chills up your spine!
1/3/2024: Hi I bought mine from the first owner when it was just 1&1/2 years old. Console shift, PB, PS and Air conditioning. Magnificent Car. It was my 3rd 440 Magnum along with a 383 and a 340. Happy New Year & Best Regards.
I have to find my favorite R/R (1968 4 spd) before they all go overseas 😄 great taste in cars. I have a 73 with a 340, 4 speed however, my first hell ride was in a 68 R/R .. I was 14 at the time and That's when I caught the bug. My oldest bro and his best friend created a monster with the need for power, acceleration & speed.
Rather than missing my muscle cars over the years, I relish the fact that I enjoyed them. In 1972 I bought a used, mint '70 Challenger RT convertible 383 auto and drove it all across and over Canada and the US. I put on 60,000 miles in 3 years. It was pretty well used up, rattling and loose. I still got more than I paid for it and the memories. I only kept my '63 Corvette roadster and can't really drive it due to replaced hips. I take it out maybe once a year.
In 1970 I HAD a 1968 roadrunner with a 426 hemi/2 four barrels, 4-speed.I was 19 yrs. old. THE car accidently caught fire and burnt up while sitting in the yard. I was devastated, it was a blessing, I'll turn 70 soon, but still a speed freak.
Nice ride along, great scenery. Might I suggest a few strong hits of the throttle, just to keep the exhaust clean 😎. Drag race a 70' Duster myself, with a well built 440...pure fun!!!
Driving on the Autobahn you don't have to worry about old gas in the tank it will empty it real quick just a suggestion to the owner I would add Marvel Mystery Oil to the fuel I do this with my Roadrunner GTX and Belvedere this helps keep the valves lubricated nice car nice video
😂 yeah men who didn't wanna spring for power steering. I do miss my 280Z though. Non assisted FAST RATIO steering is wonderful at speed but IMO not so much the forever steering of these old things, where you saw the wheel comically just to go down a straight road.
beautiful car! Just one tip for the owner: never start or end the video at your house. You would't want thieves to use it as inspiration for a nighttime visit...
Back in the mid to late 70s me and my boy's all ran mopars the Ford and Chevy guys who'd say mopar stood for my old pig ain't running then we'd show them the taillights
Back when I was a teen, there was an elderly guy across the street who had 3-4 Roadrunners. You'd see him washing cars on the weekends then he'd take one out for a drive.
