It's got a cop motor. A 440 cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop shocks, cop suspension. It's a model made before catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas.
That’s a tough one. I grew up in the glass pack, thrush day but I definitely like flow masters on most cars. I hear a lot of cars and trucks today with that ridiculous loud popping sound, I hate that! It truly takes a high compression hard hitting engine to make any exhaust sound right.
I prefer the Flowmaster myself. Glasspacks have always been abnoxious to me. I personally prefer a more muffled sound. Becides that i always considered Glasspacks the poor mans exhaust cause youve always been able to find them for like $8, but that was 20 years ago.
Both are aggressive, and sound great with a V8, but glasspacks change over time as the fiberglass inside deteriorates, while Super 44's are chambered and have no "filling", so are much more consistent.
Glass packs are a great sound unless you have a daily driver. It gets pretty old after a while. Especially when every time you get in your car and put the key in the ignition and turn it to accessories the stereo blows your ears out. After a couple of muscle cars and trucks with glass packs, I put turbos or flowmasters on everything.
You can tell the driver likes glass better. Triple rev at begin of glass demo and got on it sooner to hear them packs rumble the flow masters out of the pic
I've never been a fan of Flowmasters. They always sounded thin, and raspy like a wheezy old dog. It doesn't help that every 200hp Mustang in town thought they had 500hp with the Flowmasters... Glasspacks sound good on everything, even helped tone down the rasp and drone on the Yamaha V6 in my old Taurus SHO. (it still set off car alarms 😅)
Guess what...I replaced the standard muffler on my 1993 Buick Park Avenue, the 3.8 V6......I had a single glass pack installed, to the wry amusement of my mechanic!...but I wanted that louder, "purring" sound that a six can give...I enjoy it, even though a couple of folks think I need a new muffler! Eff them, my luxury barge sounds almost bad-ass now! lol
