Thanks Brent. I can’t begin to tell you how many times that crossed my mind. She did good and boy that heater felt good. It sure is nice to take the jacket off and push the sleeves up! The professional weather guessers are saying that we got over 20 inches from the two storms. Back to back. Mere hours apart. Plows and snow removal equipment were ordered off from the roads and many roads were closed. The state patrol issued a travel ban and ordered all vehicles off of the roads so that the milk haulers could travel unimpeded. 🤣🤣🤣

Reports now are saying that we got over 20 inches! The first of the week, we were still bare ground here. No snow. Well, that sure changed!

Thanks Brian. The 20 series was a nice step up from the 10 series. This tractor is very rare. They only made them for 4 years in limited production. It was the era of the muscle tractor when these were manufactured. They were too small to be a big tractor and too big to be a small tractor. They just didn’t fit into where the demand was back then. I have been offered $25,000 for just the tractor. The loader would bring another $4500-$5000. But then what do I replace it with? $30,000 doesn’t buy me much of a tractor in the 60 hp range with fwa and a loader. This one will live out its days with me here on the farm where it has spent nearly 50 years of its life. It has an easy life now and has for sure earned its keep. Been very blessed to have owned such an awesome tractor.

I don’t know Mathew, we only got 20 inches! Don’t know if we can spare any 🤣 This was brutal. Now we have plunged into the double digits below zero. The first of the week we were still bare ground here. These two storms came through with vengeance. Super high winds. I guess that winter hasn’t forgotten about Iowa after all. During the first storm, the plows and snow removal equipment were all pulled. Many if not most roads were ordered closed and a no travel order was issued so that the milk haulers could travel unimpeded.

Couple that with the super high winds that we had… we had a genuine mess. Never lost power but I had the generator ready to rock and roll. We are in the double digits below zero for the week now. The first part of the week, we had bare ground and upper 30’s for temps. I was just saying that I thought winter had forgotten about Iowa. Me and my big mouth.

Thanks for watching Ben. The first of the week it was mid 30’s and bare ground here. By the next afternoon, we had 10 inches on the ground and super high winds making it nearly impossible to clear. The state and counties pulled their plows off of the roads and the state patrol closed roads and issue travel and tow bans. The professional weather guessers are saying that snow amount totals are exceeding 20 inches here now from the 2 storms that hit us back to back. Barely had enough time to clean up from the first one to get braced for the second one. We never lost power here, but I have the generator just inside the main shop door and tractors are all fueled and ready to go. All of the fuel is treated. I was as ready as I could be.

And they do a great job and take good care of thier equipment, I notice Gary is an expert driver independently braking to turn sharper, I am almost 40 and I try to soak up as knowledge as I can from the older generation. I bought kubota after deciding my 8n was getting a little tired I was convinced on a kubota 2501 thanks to Gary’s great review of the tractor. Best purchase ever.

She stays plugged in out in the Quonset building and the breaker tripped until I get up in the morning. I go down and throw the breaker back on and fix breakfast, do chores, and go fire it up. By that time , it has been heating up for over an hour. She will fire right up. Hydraulics will be really cold and stiff for a bit. Thanks for watching Jim
