What happens to the front shock that is removed when installing the front airbags, do the front end have a bouncy feel when driving? I seen those airbag with shocks, are those better to install in the front?
In most cases the shock would be relocated on the Cadillacs it is difficult to relocate them, and I have left them off on several builds and haven’t had any complaints. It can be a little bouncy over large bumps, but it’s not unmanageable. The shockwave style bags with incorporated shocks are ok. they do not have as much collapse as a conventional bag so if you’re trying to be really low they can be an issue. Also the shockwave for Cadillac applications use the original shock mounts to carry the full weight of the car, and wouldn’t recommend that without reinforcing the spring pocket and control arm.
@@callahansgarage Thanks for the write up. I was concerned about this too. I'm a little weary of removing shock absorbers for handling reasons on my '70 but I really want to park it in the weeds. I definitely don't want to put the weight of the vehicle on the shock tower
