westport wa.state here sir. this old guy has swapped a couple of things. cut some things up. we did not have all the fance motors. long winded way of saying. thank you for not making it look hard. thank you.
Don’t forget when you make a brake line with both fittings in the correct orientation, then put one last bend in it, and realize the fitting is on the wrong side of the bend and won’t go around the bend
Very cool. I'm 75% of the way finished putting a 71 Travelall on a 2003 Tahoe. Mine is a full on floor pan and firewall swap. Basically a full Tahoe with an IH skin and some Dakota fender flares. If you're interested, the whole build is over on my channel.
@@RandomRodShop Awesome. And thanks. I'm trying to get caught up on videos but I'm pretty bad at it. I'm much farther than the videos. Front clip is fully repaired and bolts on (finally), rust and holes in the roof are fixed, interior metal work is nearly finished. This was the first time youtube has introduced me to your build. Glad I found it.
My son and I talked about taking your approach, but in the end we both felt that we wanted to keep the "old" truck. We just want a more reliable and efficient drivetrain.
@@RandomRodShop honestly, I only went the route I did because my shell was so far gone. If I had bought a nicer one, I would have stuck with a frame swap like you're doing.
Hey man this is the first time ive ever seen you or your video that i can remember .. you had me at your introductory speech .. lol .. if your building old vehicles i wanna watch it dont care if how you do it .. however if you start putting ls motors in foxbodies im out … with that being said .. carry on bro !!!!!
I have a soft spot for foxes. I have been gathering parts for a 5.0/T5 fox build for years. I prefer the capri fenders and quarters. 😊Now that I think about...the fox is the newest vehicle that I have any desire to build.
@@RandomRodShop i have 3 foxbodies and several other old Fords ..77 f100 swb 78/79 bronco’s ..82 bronco .. im definately a ford guy but above all im a gear head … i like watching any old vehicle come back from the dead … i dont care what ppl put ls motors in just as long as its not a fox .. the reason is they put a huge ass turbo on it and go out and outrun every body they race and then start holerin LS this and Ls that i get sick of hearing it lmbo .. i shut em all ip when i tell em take the turbo off it take it out of that ford mustang then put it in a chevy and see how fast you go .. thats when i hear crickets its the mustang and the turbo that makes the ls fast ..… lol a ls needs a foxbody to go fast a foxbody dont need a ls to go fast !!! Lmbo !!! Btw you got some mad mechanic skills .. im kinda jealous !!!
😁 An LS more like a Windsor than Small Block Chevy. I have always thought that the LS is the next gen that ford should have built instead of the Mod motor.
@@RandomRodShop the way i understand is the LS was designed by ppl and offerd the design to Ford to begin with .. it was based off the sbf … the heads will fit on a sbf if you just make 1 bolt hole a tad bit bigger .. however the story goes on to say that Ford told em designer guys that they are a tad bit too late they are already too deep into the mod motors to even think about starting something new right outa nowhere so they took the ls motor design over to gm and thats when history was made … there is a youtube video if i remember correctly its called 351W/LS its a 2 maybe 3 part video where a guy puts Ls heads on a 351w he makes his own intake and has a cam made but just on motor it made i think it was 418 hp on a engine dyno … then they rebuild the motor back stock and put twin turbos on it and it gets up to 998 hp i think it is before a stock rod bolt or a cast piston gives up the ghost .. but not the block !!! Ofcorse the block had a hole in the aide of it but it was feom the broke piston or rod bolt not because the block failed …
@@RandomRodShop😂 unacceptable Fred! An hour north of Puddin I guess that puts me about in the middle. I’m in far eastern Ok County right on the Pott County line.
I made a video about the hydrobooster install. Let me know if need more info, I will do my best to help out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GZJbrrF0lu4.html
This video was compiled from over 500 hours of video clips. At time I thought I had cut and edited it significantly. In retrospect, you are probably right...More doing - Less talking... for a compilation video.
