The dash goes in with all the gauges, which finally cleans up all the wiring mess. The only electrical part that we haven't tested before was the wiper motor and switch. Will it all work now?

I enjoy watching the troubleshooting skills. Things don't always work the 1st time and i like to see the solution come together. 👏

Thanks Elin. I have no park position on my GT6. The wipers work fine but I need to time when to turn them off. Your video will help me when I tackle the problem. I have had wiper trouble for years. We have owned the Triumph for 50 years now.

Elin... I gotta say... when it comes to Old British Sports Cars... i used to try stuff 3 , 4, or 5 times before i solved the problem at hand. Im happy to see that nothing has changed in the past 30 years!!! Good going, Man!!!

I'm not a Triumph owner (I have an AH Sprite and an MGB GT), but I thoroughly enjoy your videos. They are informative and relative, and I love your candour and humour. Keep up the great work.

If it wasn't for copyright rules, you could have had that Surfaris song "Wipe Out" playing in the background. 😅Another great example of tracing and diagnosing faults. John's TR-6 is starting to come to life again.

You are not stupid Elin as you stated at 15:14 in this video. You do great work.

Nice job, that business with the wipers was a bit weird but it seems everything fell into place - except of course the new switch that will have to be forced into place ! The chrome bezel will suit the newer style gauges, and you can build up the spare dashboard with the original black dials and broken wiper switch…. 😊

Good work that was very interesting. You have such a huge amount of electrical knowledge and diagnostic skills that you use to figure all this out very quickly.

Very useful, as always, Elin. I find it very strange that they used a motor with two speeds, but a switch with only on-off function. Must have been Lucas engineered. Thanks for the excellent video.

Elin, I hope you do a video on how to correctly install an electric radiator fan, with both thermal switch on the radiator and a manual over-ride switch, I've been having a heck of a time getting mine to work correctly, even with good grounds, all new cables, new circuit breaker, good switches and relay.

Excellent timing Elin! I’m in the process of installing a TR6 wiper motor in my TR4A. I had to put a 90 degree gear in the motor, and I’m using a modified 4A switch to allow 2 speeds! So I have some interesting wiring ahead. Fingers crossed🤞👍

Regarding scuttle vent: are the 3 bolt holes in the lid not oval? If you loosen the 3 bolts, it seems we can shuffle the lid forward & 'hook' the rubber with the lip of the lid. I could be mistaken.

I'm curious if anyone has ever installed the two-speed TR6 wiper motor on earlier cars (250, 4A, 4, etc.)? There was an optional two-speed motor for the TR4/4A, but those are "unobtanium". I assume there would be some mounting mods necessary, since the earlier cars use the motor with the rectangular body, while the TR6's is cylindrical... plus the differences in the switches, of course. Would a better option be a GT6/Spitfire two-speed wiper motor? Possibly with the steering column mounted stalk-type switches? (Adding electric spray pump, too?)

The wiper motor without the the drag of the wipers to slow it, can have enough momentum to over run the switch in the motor. This might be the issue you were having.

Elin -the way to check the voltage stabilizer gives 10 volts was 12 inches away in the shape of the new voltmeter! Probably like me and my TR4A 1965 (sadly long gone from me) you are so used to having an ammeter in the dash, not a voltmeter?

FYI as you probably know English switches are down to be on and USA switches are up to be on.
