Following my video about the repair on the frame I did, I wanted to show you how I turned the jig into universal jig for both sides - left and right. If you haven't watched the first video watch it here • 1970 Triumph TR6 Retso... and than come back to this one.

This is oddly satisfying and very relaxing.

Same problem on my, very expensive repair. Also I have some cracks in near the differential. Those chassis are too weak and prone to rot. I prefer tr3/4 chassis

He is a good guy, he just didn't know the damage was so serious and didn't wan't to fix what wasn't broken. The moment we told him it actually needs to be changed he agreed.

Elin, another great video! I want to make the jig for my 66 TR4A IRS restoration project. The problem I have is that on the 66TR4A frames (although both my 68 TR4As have the seatbelt attachment tapped holes) there is only 1 tapped hole on the inner frame rail where you attached the brace section, the second hole in your video is the seatbelt attachment point. This 2nd tapped hole (towards the rear of the frame) that you used to secure the inner side of the jig does not exist on the 66 TR4A models. Any suggestions on where to attach the inner side of the jig to? I thought I might be able to attach to the same anchor point/hole as your inner brace point by using your second nut method and welding a second nut facing the repair section onto the side of the first nut and securing the tube, nut and attaching bolt to that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Admire your work greatly. Thanks.

You can definitely attach it to the same point where the other brace is. It doesn't really matter where you attach it as long as the jig is secured in place and can easily go in and out without being distorted.

How was the cross member originally held in? was it part of one box section?

It was held the exact same way . It is a separate box welded to the two long rails.
