I've done several of these swaps over the years and I use the flexplate from a dodge truck with the 5.7 hemi. You'll need to cut the ring gear off because the 727 converter already has a ring gear. The bolt pattern on the flexplate and converter are the same so they bolt together. I've never had any problems with this setup.
Unless you go to a tubular K-member with power R&P and coil overs.. Then you get a stronger K-member on a diet with far better cornering control and a ton of room for fat tube headers once those old torsion bars are gone.. AND AN ANSTI-SWAY BAR!!!
True, those are nice, but come with a hefty price tag ($5,000 ish) Our AAR has a stock K with upgraded tubular control arms, larger diameter torsion bars, adjustable strut rods, greasable pivot pins on delrin bushings; billet tie rod sleeves with larger C body rod ends and KYB shocks/struts. It also has factory front and rear sway bars. We have attained 7 degrees positive caster, -1.5 camber and slight toe in for really good handling. We frequently autocross and have less than $1,500 in the front end alone. It’s bolt in, reversible and doesn’t require cutting the bump stop mounts off the car
@@SUBLIMEparts great videos and info you guys are doing. I’ve also been looking at options for upgrading the front end without the hefty price tag. For the $1500 stock K upgrades you did, would you mind either sharing a list of parts/items or doing a video covering this upgrades?
i put a 2009 challanger srt8 motor & trans in a 2007 srt8 charger,, im having the skim problem where it starts and dies after a couple seconds.. do i need to tune the pcm from the challanger and put it in the charger or can i just send off the pcm thats for the charger even tho the motor in it is for the challanger
Bill, we are really trying with our equipment we have. We know it's not the greatest and are looking into investing in some new equipment. It's all been a side gig for us that really has not paid out much really... lol.. we did set up a GoFundMe in case anyone wants to help =) gofund.me/47f5b7b3
The 727 ruins what you are trying to do. I can understand if you don't want to cut the car up to fit a modern transmission but at least put in a built 42RH - 46RH. The car will be more usable with an overdrive. It is also hard to hear what you are saying, you need a better mic.
It was a customer car and yes we didn't want to cut up and go down a rabbit hole. It will be interesting to see how it does with the 6.1L. We will find out!. Thanks for the feedback on the video and sound.... we know we need a new one and it's been tight on funds. If you wanna help.... gofund.me/da30362c
Hey Blake , Ifound a 2008 ecm from a ram truck. it's okay to connect it to my 2003 5.7 hemi ?. And do i need the 2008 harness ? or anything else.? maybe the C-130 connector.
do you have a compleat 5.7 hemi harness with controller ?going in a 1970 challenger a833 engine came out of 2005 magnum.just need it to manage and run engine. i didnt get any wire harness with engine. have all injecter ,coil, engine sensors and electric fuel pedal .
We don’t have any of the engine harnesses. We only have our QuickHemi harness that plugs into the engine harness. You can find some on ebay or try a scrap yard.
Ok guys i have a question can I use a dodge ram truck intake manifold from 392 and put it on my 5.7 Dodge Challenger RT went the air cleaner is facing the opposite side ( it on the passenger side instead of the driver's side .) Only advice would be appreciated thank you Robert
Id like to make this swap in my 71 duster, as you said there's a little "adjusting" for the A-body, im sure it will fit and work just fine. It has a slant six in it now with a 904 trans. I'm trying to decide if i should get a 727 instead of the 904. What re your thoughts?
