G'day guys, I recently had a mate pop over in this Tidy 1972 Ford XA four door sedan running a fresh 351 clevo, rebuilt c4 auto and 9 inch LSD rear.
We recently picked up an XA sedan we are doing a bit of work on, and this beast definately gave us a bit of motivation.
I was really stoked to get to see this car again and to hear it in action!.
Cars that have survived like this are few and far between, this car is really charming and a credit to his Father, so I quickly made a short video for you all to enjoy the car as much as I do!
I hooked Alan up with a pair of Killler 2V Closed Chamber heads that were very nicely ported and running 1/2" guides to compliment his new motor.
The heads were something I was holding onto for a long time and came off a mates low 11 sec XY.
They will now find themselves on this XA very soon on a New 393 Clevo Stroker which is under construction for this beautiful XA Ford.

My brother had a 72 XA with a 302 and a 4 barrel Holly. It was the best to ride in. It was a real sleeper. My brother loved dragging all the boy racers Escorts at the lights :) good memories.

Totally get it and Im 58 but started in a 1974 LTD and i was hooked 2 tonne of car screaching into 2nd gear and that thermoquad induction roar !! god i love these 51s and stroked ? wow absolutely off the cgain

I had one ( XA ) it was Brown 351c sold it to buy a XB coupe 351c 4v top loader 9 " I love XAs and that is a nice one

Great car. We had an XA, same brown with white roof, only a wagon and 3.3 L. 3 on the tree manual. The old man must have bought 10 Falcons, but always the smallest engine.. Wished he'd bought the XD and XE in 5.8 or at least 4.9..

Beautiful car and I have to say Ford did grace yenz with a few cool cars that we did not get to see ever here unless someone has imported one but I have never seen one. God bless and great weekend to you and your family. Love the color and the shine when you go across the trunk lid the Ford emblem does some funky shimmering with the sun and the color. Beautiful!

I've always like the XB front the best out of the 3. Had two 351 GS sedans, now have a GS 500 coupe in the garage waiting to be restored. The coupe version of this shape of Falcon, XA-XC was the sexiest Falcon shape ever made imo.

Unreal car. Love the colour combo and matching interior. Im currently rebuilding a 351 for my XA sedan in very similar condition to this. Not sure whether to reco the 2v open chamber 302 heads that came on it or buy something new designed for a 351? Going with a mild cam, edelbrock air gap and the usual upgrades (roller rockers, arp rods and bolts, carby), 3.25 gears in a 9 inch LSD behind a 4 spd and hoping to hit around 400 horsies… What do you reckon?

Nothing wrong with good iron heads when you can find them, I have tried many brands of alloy head right great success just stay clear of pro comp

Beautiful car, after a 6 month wait I got a pair of Aussie 2v heads for my street ride. One thing I noticed is the lack of the theremactor bumps on the exhaust ports, which is a plus. You just don't see much in terms of prepping these heads for performance. Other than the basic bowl blend and port match do you leave the rest alone?

4v valves ruin the flow characteristics on the closed chamber 2vs pays to leave them stock size and get a quality 3 or 5 angle valve job. As for porting less is generally more too they flow good and you don’t want to take too much off the short term radius of the exhaust port to get it a nicer angle.

Hi CK, I've been watching some of your posts and I love how much you know about FORDS.I see your into XD models so you should know your way around an XC 78 Fairmont. I'm in the Illawarra area and was wondering if you could take a look at it but I'm not sure where you are ? I'm interested in giving the 302 Clevo 4 speed square block a new lease of life .It runs good has torque but leaking oil and minor things that need attention. Also not sure what you exactly can do. I personally wanted a full reco and while that's happening to spruce the interior up plus a few more things like trans reco. Is there a chance we could meet ? Ive had it registered 7 or 8 years now so it drives pretty well but not a 9 inch. I want it to be reliable not necessarily a supercar. Thanks please reply when you can. Saul

I’m in Brisbane mate on the Southside. I do anything on the old fords from small fix ups to full rebuilds. I have done a few engines for guys interstate now and I have the freight side of things sorted. If you want to chat more shoot me a message on insta of fb page thanks.

Yes it is mate and they have been around for a while now. I ran one for a while in one of my old Utes. The hydraulic roller is more street friendly the solid roller is more for drag race.
