Hello every one.
New video with another American muscle from Auto World (based on Ertl).
The 1972 Dodge Demon (along with the Plymouth Duster) is definitely one of my favorites. I'm just a fan of Chrysler A body type so this one as well as the Duster are probably ones that I would get in real life! This variant is a nice gold and black with Mr. Norm's specific details, new front end tooling and brought to us by Auto World. This completes a four-some in my collection. Now I have a "plum", white and a green Ertl variant as well!
How did this one fared though?
Check the review to see if I like it and how I rated it.
(or cheat and go to the final minute of the video! HAHAHA)

I knew that you're gonna make this video to lure me out 😅 My GSS Demon arrived this monday and I just have to look at it all the time. I switch how it's "parked" every day to see it from every angle. Your description is correct - this model has it's pros and cons and it's not perfect, but it looks pretty epic anyways and it gets extra points from me for being an unusual choice of a car. I waited for a long time to finally own a model of my own car, so I'm really happy with it. I knew that my patience is gonna pay off. Gold Metallic is not bright red, but I dig this color so much anyways. It's shiny, sparkly and it provides an amazing contrast to the coal black stripes. Speaking of stripes...the hood stripes on '72 Demons are probably the coolest hood stripes of all times? The twinscoop hood snorkel is pretty badass too. This Demon instantly became my favorite decoration of my living room. It's still absolutely crazy to me that I own it!! Both the model and the real one. This seriously makes me humble, because for all the millionaires out there, there are also so many people that struggle to put food on the table. I am so glad that I made it and bought one before the prices get out of hand for us normal folk. Look once more on the car, the tiny Pentastar is actually there, but it's better to use a magnifying glass, heh. When it comes to the nasty windows, I have had a "scratched" windshield so I blew on it and it was just some leftover stuff that flew away and it looks good now. My side windows are good too. You forgot to mention that it has no goose neck in the trunk!! You always hate that "tube", but I love it because it's quirky lol. Door aligment etc. seems to be better on my car, but this is always a roulette when it comes to diecast cars 🤷. The interior should be better for sure as it looks quite nice in real life. Obviously it's not anywhere close to the cars from fifties and their abundance, affluence and opulence, but it's kickass and kickass is perfect for a muscle (pony) car 👹. In the future they'll put a carpet like fabric with the Demon logo as floor mats in diecast Demons, but it's gonna cost so much, because this is too much of a detail to want. I checked your serial number and it's 107 and I have 061...hmmm, who's gonna get the infamous 666 🤘😈🔱? All in all while not a perfect diecast I absolutely love it and the cons it has can be seen from a very close only anyways. It does it's job as a living room decoration like if it was born for it and I know that every visitor is gonna smile at it. So yeah, I couldn't be happier about this purchase. Like you already know I don't buy models (because of space) anymore, but this one was a must have for me. Most guys wish to have a model of their car and I did too, but it was clear to me that it's gonna be a long wait before the Demon gets it's chance to shin...to spawn 😃. Chargers and Challengers are just way too legendary to be skipped over and that's fine, because I love all old US rides and I can also wait, when I want something special. Now it's time to write an email to Rockstar Games Support and suggest to create a very good Demon copy and put it into GTA6. They have more than enough time to do so. I really enjoy the way they design cars these days...so close to getting sued by the real car makers. On the other hand I believe that most or maybe all car makers secretly love when Rockstar Games create copies of their real vehicles. That's free advertisement for a half the globe and of course it's also fun to drive the cars you sell/know in a game with no rules and no penalties for speeding and crime. Imagine some kinda Lamborghini CEO in his late sixties playing GTA and enjoying the hell out of it 🤣. Well thanks for the review and have one hell of a Christmas 🧑‍🎄🌲🎁 Long live Demons, other muscle cars and us fans of these mad machines. A car doesn't need to make sense, a car needs to be fun 😁

Successfully "lured"!!! 😂😂 Glad you got your model safe and sound! It is indeed a cool one and along with the others I have is going to shine. Loved your take on it and hopefully we'll get what you wish for on a bright red release 😬😊 Thanks for watching and your comment. Pinned!

I wasn't going to get this one but I saw a lot of pics posted by people in my diecast groups and it looked stunning. Windows on mine seem a bit better and my stripes and door alignment are perfect. The color on this one is really striking. I have it in a case on my desk and I don't think it's going anywhere else for a while. Can't keep my eyes off it. As the owner of a 1:1 70 Duster 340, I can confirm the inner door panels are really that simple. I would love to see the Demon and Duster done like the Highway 61/Acme A-bodies for sure but I doubt it'll ever happen. What I really need is for Auto World to do a B5 70 340 with TX9 stripes with a blue/white interior like mine came from the factory. I'd get 2. Mod the second one to look more like mine does currently. No stripes, 17 inch Coys (look like Torque Thrusts), pistol grip and tach on the floor. My totally biased rating on this one is a B+.

Ah, sorry read the comment about your Duster above.

I love the color combo for sure and would looooove a HW61/Acme type release but the closest we get are the Darts. 😔🤷🏽 Anyway, I would definitely get your spec if made 🔥🤘 From the released Demons, I poetically like the "NoAngel" white release more, but this might be a close second!

Beautiful model. Usually when thinking about Dodge cars then only Charger and Challenger comes into the mind. But this Demon is definately also a great looking car. Very nice details on this model car as well. I like it! 🎅👍 Wishing you also happy holidays!

Happy holidays my friend. This was definitely a great Christmas gift. And agree, Demons are hardly ever mentioned but weirdly enough, I like them more than the Challies/chargers. Thanks!

Nice. Thanks for your honest un-biased review. It was nice but did have some disappointing details in places. Look forward to your next video!

To have this car in 1972, when the classic muscle car era was pretty much over, was something. Wonder what the quarter mile times were for a small car like this with a supercharger? The real Mr Norm window stickers are worth a lot today.

Should have been sub 14 seconds for sure. Maybe sub 13s

Maybe it could happen. The more unique cars they make the more sales they get, at least in theory. I am not a diecast collector but if I'd be, I'd rather buy a Demon, a Duster, an Aspen and a Volare instead of 4 Challengers. Challenger will be always cool, but why to have 4 almost same Challengers if you can have a nice variety of muscle cars instead? Hopefully you get your wish and they'll make your Duster.

Totally agree, but companies don't want to spend the $$$ for new tooling and design sadly. I think I'm getting to the point that, yeah, probably won't be getting more Challengers other than the ones I have on pre-order. Same for the Cudas! Have quite a few 70/71s already. I do love the colors that do come out, but there doesn't seem to be any changes apart from that and even the molds are starting to get bad it seems because shutlines seem a bit worse. Let's see what else Acme and company decide to release...

@@DiecastNewb I look for colors (especially white interiors), engines, equipment etc that I do not already have or remind me of a particular car I've encountered. For example, YCID is doing a Bahama Yellow 71 Cuda 340 with black billboards. I pre-ordered the convertible version because it is very close to the one that lived down the street from me when I was a kid. That one had a Shaker hood and John's doesn't but it is as close as I am likely to get to that great looking car.

@@dustdevl3404 yeah, I get you. There's always a small difference between releases that might make a model more desirable than others

Definitely not for everyone, especially if you already own previous releases. Personally I love the color, the hood treatment, etc but for $100+, you definitely have to be a "fan". 😊 Thanks for watching!!
