The Petty Blue really lifts this Mustang. A very limited release too!. BTW, I'm impressed by how you manage to film the smallest of details. What camera/lens are you using?
Could have been much better, I think. I have a couple of $20.00 Maisto Mustang Cobras that have nicer paint, smaller door gaps and better lights. Fair review as always.
Real good review like like always 👍🏻 I bought this model also. Nice diecast but could use a little improvement. I wonder if they will make the Petty Blue and white model
Very nice model. I agree with your rating. The red interior is terrific and goes with the pinstripe and redline tyres. I like white muscle cars too. Thank you for the review.
Really a very beautiful model - loving the details. Such a great model - although the re-work on the left rear fender is of course something not so fine but as you mentioned you bought it as a used model car. So things like this can happen.
How wonderful, very happy for this review, it's a shame about the defects in the paintwork (I hope they can be repaired), it's still a very cool model, especially with that red interior.
The stickers used on the gauges drives me crazy. No matter how good the paint and body might look, its a non purchase for me. Acme seems to be the biggest offender. Love your reviews. Thorough and professional.
Thank you! 😊 And yeah, there's always something with these releases. Do note, Greenlight owns GMP licenses so this is actually a Greenlight release. But I think Acme will take over FULL oversee of future GMPs so, let's see if there's better QA
Right now, prices should be higher but the average a few years ago was from $40 to $70. Quality is quite good. I probably wouldn't pay too much but if you like it, go for it.
It's better than Greenlight for sure in terms of overall quality, but if price is an issue, GL models are ok. HW61 have the upper hand, especially interior details (including dash) but are pricy on ebay! So models acquired will really depend on budget constraints. Thanks
They could at least do some 72-74 'Cudas since they already tooled up the parts for the 72 Sox & Martin, and yellow street drag cars. I mean, why not make a few since they already have the molds for the grille, taillight panel, etc... Seems like a no brainer to me.
This would sit nicely beside your GMP Southern "Speed and Marine" GTX. But we need more new molds from these diecast manufacturers! I'd like to see a quality 1969 Firebird Trans Am, for example.
Totally agree. That's why I'm going to steer clear on color variations. I have a few pre-ordered already but after those, I'm done buying these... Hopefully will get others, maybe even older HW61s...
the front fender/door gaps are HUGE!! what a shame to see that and it not acceptable in my opinion. So this model won't find a way into my collection even if it was half the retail price
Is it cool? Yes. But definitely not perfect. And indeed, that's the biggest con on this one. Crazy gaps. And like I mentioned, you could say it's part of the "story" for this particular release but the mold is probably getting worse by now
The wheels are the same as the Gurney Cuda AAR Trans Am racer tribute car as is that front spoiler. It's pretty much a release of that car using the Pro Stock hood tooled up for the drag versions. Well, except for the Hemi. Personally, I think the misaligned doors actually enhance this one. It's supposed to be a cobbled up mess. Tempted by it but I have too many on pre-order and need to stop. At least for a while.
Ahhhh I definitely don't have that particular Cuda! And yeah, I get that this is supposed to be a "custom crazy build", but still the gaps... I think have a couple more Cudas pre-ordered and then, I might just stop with the color variations lol. And agree, too many pre-orders! 😫😅 Need to prep the new room soon!
@@DiecastNewb 3 Cudas on pre-order, John Hagen's 68 Superstock, Arlen Vanke's 68 and the Bahama Yellow 340 ragtop from YCID. That one is the spitting image of the one down the street from me when I was a little kid in 1971. Assorted other Challengers and stuff too. And now Acme is releasing Gene Snow's 68 Hemi-Dart too. Got one free shelf and I can squeeze a few more in here and there. Problem is my collection is just like the Hotel California. They never leave.
Not seen one of these before but I really like it - there are some weird details visible if you know your VWs though; Dash is from curved screen Super Beetle/1303, whereas this is a normal, flat screen car. front suspension is very odd, the standard torsion bars are in place but not connected to anything, but then it has big A-arms between the front wheels. Think I'll leave mine on its wheels and not think about it too much...
Oh yeah, probably a mix and match from previous Solido releases lol. It looks cool, but yeah, I think that if you want exact or just proper details, Schuco might be better with VWs.
@@DiecastNewb I have the red one ,however, MoPars should only come in 2 colours Black and White 🤣! Nah , they look great in all their quirky colours! I got some great 1:18’s myself! The Highway 61’s are the better ones! 2 off ‘70 Hemi challengers (Black) 1 ‘70 Cuda Hemi (triple Black) a White (orange interior) ‘71 Hemi Cuda and a heap of Hemi B bodies in black as well as my Australian muscle cars by biante! 👍🇦🇺
Lol!! I love white cars so you won't hear complaints from me but I do like brown American muscle cars for some reason (in search for some of them). I really need to buy some Biante's!!! They look very detailed!
@@DiecastNewb 😀 haha, yeah my ‘68 charger started life as a copper bronze colour car and I had it painted black with a white bumblebee stripe. Biantes are Very detailed. As good as the Autoart cars I believe. Some have sliding sunrooves as well as working side windows.
How hard would this be to take apart? A bit of paint on the interior details like knobs and dash would make it much better. Exterior is nicely done, though. I think they put the money where it's most visible. Their Challengers have some dash and door detail and look very good on the shelf.
I haven't seen any videos recently but I don't believe they are too hard to pull apart. Indeed, exterior looks very good and I really like their Challengers too. I think these would make nice little side projects!!
Blue punch buggy no punch back!! 😜 Just had to get that out. Lol. Cool little model, but I was very much expecting suspension especially on a Baja car. C’mon!! Even a roll cage shoulda been part of the interior. But, then again, I don’t have any solido’s, so I didn’t really know what to expect. The painted belts made me laugh though. 😂
Lol!! Those painted belts like... Why!?!?! Solido makes "solid" (pun intended) models, good looking, cheap but of course lacking on the details dept. Oh well...
I bought both versions. Have not looked them in detail as they are now stored. Thank you for showing me the model. Nice model for the money. Owners can do some nice detailing on interior, engine and under carriage to make it more realistic. ✊🏻✊🏻
Yeah, I think these particular releases would be great for that (i.e. Good looking and cheap enough to take some chances!) I'll be looking at the red release as well.
Bought it from Carloverdiecast a few years ago. But you should be able to find it in ebay as well as other sites such as: livecarmodel.com/products/1-18-mitsubishi-pajero-v31-green-diecast-car-model.html
What a beauty! Looooove the upgraded engine with the removable hood to show it off. The red sway bars and oil pan certainly do make the underside pop. As I’ve said before, I love ACME models, but AGAIN the rotating callipers …. 🤦♂️ And yes, the stubs on the headlights were a bit of a let down too, but overall, I’d buy it. 😉
Yeah, cons are more like nitpicking but indeed, it is still a cool model and that engine... 😲 I believe John still has a few of these available to order, so hint hint lol
Good idea to have a removable hood-that engine needs to be seen! Love the detailed distributor and spark plug cables. I have the Exact Detail yellow and black 'Cheap Street' version with a bench seat. A quality model. Thanks for showing it to us.
I think the only Exact Detail I have is a Camaro. Seems they were on top of the game with regards to models and tooling at that time! Thanks for watching!
Thanks and I missed the sun visors not being on my sample so I never corrected it for production. I think the color in the sun is outstanding, thats what I was going for but then nobody displays there models outside, LOL.
I thought it was weird it didn't come with any lol. And yeah, that candy blue is great. Chose a Pic with a natural sunlight for the thumbnail just for that reason. Good one for sure! 🔥💪💪
Hello. I don't think Maisto does a 1/18 Chevelle or at least I haven't seen one. Also, PRETTY SURE, Maisto level of detail is lower based on the Maisto's I have. But one thing is clear, I would NEVER EVER pay $260 for an AutoWorld/Ertl unless it is a very limited Ertl Authentics release!
