Very nice restoration of this Torino, my older brother bought a 73 ranchero in dark green with the lime stripe and I remember loving that as a kid. Ford Torino's are so underrated.
It’s great when the rest of the family appreciates a Dad’s obsession for old cars. Great restoration, thorough documentation. Thanks for another great video !

I bought a 73 a few months ago as my first car with help from my father. It is VERY rough and needs help in every department. It has a 351 cobra jet, c6 automatic trans, black interior bench seat, rally gauges, power steering and brakes, ac, fastback, and more things I'm still learning about it. Mine is a factory sunset gold but it is currently painted black from a previous owner
I had a 73 gran Torino Sport same car I bought in 75. Same color, no stripe, but mine was an automatic. 351 cleveland. Loved that car. So glad to see this one saved.

I took my driver's test in a very plain jane 73 torino. I passed despite losing points for speeding. If I had been driving that premium model I'd probably have failed. Nice car.
@@loucostabile love how its front square face and its round rear end blend in so well. Very sporty looking and Clara gotta look cute behind the wheel. Cute car and cute chick owner to boot.
THANK FOR FILMING THE PAPERS IN THE TRUNK(AS YOU ALWAYS DO) SO I COULD SEE THE OPTIONS IT CAME WITH! thanks Lou there is really no one like you on the whole internet

I had one of these cars but it was a lighter blue with no stripe but a trim package that went down the side. One of the best handling cars I ever owned.

Love it...I had one just like it, even the same color... '73 GTS, 351 4V cj also with a 4 speed, no air, no power brakes...I never missed the air conditioning....many many smiles per gallon!
Hi Divad Lernca, Thank you for viewing and sharing you had a cool car like this too :-) Hope you see many more cars you enjoy on this RU-vid Channel, Lou
Clara was beautiful! And so is Clara his daughter! His whole family is beautiful! Love the color and it sounded healthy too. I had a couple Torino's myself a 1976 Torino wagon in the blue like this and a 1974 Torino Elite. I just loved them both! I am a Torino fan! Thanks for sharing Lou!
My all time favorite car !!! I had a 73 Torino as my first car and guess its like a first love,,,something you will never forget. This car is awesome, thank you for sharing !
The Torino line introduced in 1968 is one of my favorite Ford Model lines. Every generation of the car was a hit as it came out. This one was the second year of the third generation. My first impression when I saw the 72 was how much that body design was reminiscent of the late 68 to 70 Oldsmobile Cutlass and 442. My dad worked as a salesman for a Ford dealership in Maumee, Ohio for a few years. He drove a 73 and a 74 as demos. He took the 74 down to New Orleans for my nephews christening. I flew down for it and drove back with my parents in that 74 Gran Torino, I loved driving that car. If I was financially in the position to buy a new car back then, that 74 would have been my car. Clara is one very lucky girl to get this car. I hope he has a cool car he can give to his other daughter.

Another informative and heartwarming video! I have very fond memories of my parent's 1976 Grand Torino Brougham coupe, triple black with all the bells and whistles, and Magnum 500 wheels with white wall tires from the factory! Swift and sassy, always classy!
Clara is one very fortunate young lady! I can tell how hard it is to see out that low-angle rear window, but this car definitely gets attention. Who cares what the insurance companies think?! What a nice friendly family! Would love to meet them. Lou, this is one of your best episodes yet! Hope you can find more car aficionado families like this!
I had a 1971 Ford Torino GT with a 351 Cleveland. Rust free sold it for $1400 in 2000. It needed a lot of work. I love the full gauge package right in front of the drivers eyes
Outstanding car rare and beautiful and an even nicer family. I have had the pleasure to get to know and hang out with these guys for the past 4 or 5 years at Carlisle, couldn't meet a nicer group of people. Also great video, maybe next year you can venture up to cardiac hill to check out my Capri.
Hi Dan, Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) Thanks for the kind words on the video, and if you see me at the car show, say hello and show me your car, Lou
What a great presentation, Lou! We have few 1973 performance vehicles to choose from due to the "de-tuning" and polution controls, but this Ford Gran Torino Sport with the equipment on this car, would have to be one of those high on the list of desirable performance vehicles from 1973. The body lines, the color, and the Hurst manual 4 speed along with the great sounding dual exhaust and dressed up 351 is fantastic. Thanks to the family for showing the car, and as always, thanks to you for another great presentation!
I had the same color car in '73 with a 351 CJ...I did have a 351 HO which had solid lifters but I preferred the cam in the hydralic. This car was a Beast! My best friend bought the 429 CJ and there was very little difference in the 1/4 mile. I wish I had kept it. Fantastic video!
1973 Torino Hello LOU How are you doing Wish you all the best success in Your business. Awesome classic and extremely powerful . That is all that I can say. Very beautiful classic. Thanks LOU for sharing a wonderful classic. Please have a great day. Enjoy your weekend. Kind regards HISHAM ELFIKI
That is one very lucky young lady. Clara to all wanna be passengers - "Yes, you can ride in my car AFTER you wipe your feet and lose the frappucino!!!".
Congrats on such a lovely car. I had a '73 Torino with a 351 Cleveland and it was a great car. Absolutely horrible in the snow, with all the weight up front. I am impressed with a youngster able to drive a manual trans. There is at least two generations that have never driven a stick shift.
Yeah you don't need a radio with a nice sounding engine like that! Very nice car and loving the channel, so will be viewing a lot of your videos, so keep up the great work.
Engine-wise, the 302 was standard on the Gran Torino Sport (GTS); optional engines were the 351 2-barrel (Windsor and Cleveland), 351 4-barrel (Q-code or Cobra Jet), 400 2-barrel, 429 4-barrel, and later in the model year, 460 4-barrel. The 302 and 2-barrel 351s had column-shifted 3-speed manuals standard; automatics were optional. 351 CJs were either 4-speed or automatic, and the 400, 429, and 460 were automatic only.
I had a white 73 Torino GT 351C 4V, C6 auto, with Air Conditioning in mid-90s. Paid $425 for it and she got maybe 9-10mpg, put an electronic ignition in it from a 400M after points ignition blew out one muffler. It had a cracked exhaust manifold when I bought her and had to look all over country for another one

Looks similar to the 1 I bought in 2003. I bought a 74 grand Torino Sport with 17,826 miles on it. I bought it from a farmer who bought it new. It sat from 1980 to 2003. Had it for 4 yrs and put 800 miles on it. It was a blue Metallic with a white landau top. Blue bucket seats with the Q code 351 cu. Sold it to buy my 1st house. Do miss the car though:)
I PURCHASED THE NEWLY STYLED 1972 GRAN TORINO SPORT..GOLD WITH BROWN VYNAL ROOF AND BROWN LEATHER INTERIOR, C4 AUTO, 351 CLEVELAND 4V. THE CAR'S HOOD HAD THE NON-FUNCTIONAL HOOD SCOOP AND GLOW SIDE STRIPES. IT WAS MY FIRST BRAND NEW CAR BUY UPON RETURN FROM VIETNAM TOUR. $5,000 WITH OPTIONS. I REBUILT IT IN 1978 AND INVESTED $3000 IN ENGINE ALONE. I'LL ALWAYS LOVE IT EVEN THOUGH I GAVE TO AN OLDER BROTHER. THE BODY STYLE TO ME IS MUCH MORE AGRESSIVE AND BEAUTIFUL THAN THE 1973 MODLE'S FRONT END. BUT I LOVE ALL PERFORMANCE FORDS. NICE CARE, THANKS!

The blue ✨glow i recall was 3K. While restromodding my 73 Mustang convertible which was originally med blue 3D i switched it pewter metallic charcoal same as Eleanor
I love the 72-73,I've had about 5 in my lifetime, I currently own a 12/72 2B red black interior, that is a Q-code C6 auto. She's going through a semi restomod. Yes parts are harder to come by now and the resto-houses are still 30 years behind unfortunately.

That is a BEAUTIFUL car. Much nicer than the next generation. Of course if you had one of the next generation you could build a Starsky and Hutch replica out of it, but the '73 has much nicer lines.
The car is absolutely awesome. I hated the changes the government imposed from 72 to 73 and even more so from 74 and above. The 72 is my all around favorite.
This 351 Cleveland sounds a far cry from my fathers Gran Torino wagon with a VERY enemic 351 2bl Winsor. God that thing moved like a dead horse. This is a rare ride. First year front end only mandated 5 mph bumper. The Torino by '73 (as the Mustang and T-Bird and EVERYTHING else Ford built) had got larded-out... man what were they thinking...bigger cars with less horsepower. Mid '70's - late 80's - ouch...
yes another of those!...i prefer the 72 but i wouldnt spit on a 73 even after they were forced to put those huge bumpers. those gran torino look so good (ive got a comet gt 73...so yeah i got huge bumpers lol)
oh my, mine is never good enough for your video haha(in my dream) exterior and int is totally original, engine in it is a hot 302. my dad buyed it new. white with black stripes scheme
I love the 72-73 Gran Torino Sport fastbacks...especially when they've got the 351 Cobra Jet and the 4 speed manual trans. Not as fast as a 70-71 Torino Cobra but still a really sweet ride. Much better looking than a 73 Mustang Mach 1
I think there was a bit of misunderstanding when discussing the details of this one of one car. According to the window sticker this car must not have come standard with ANY radio and not ordered with one. But listening to the owner it was described as a radio delete car instead. When a car comes standard with an item from the factory, and you chose to remove that option and receive a monetary credit back on the price of your car, it will always show the deleted item and received credit on the window sticker. This car did not show that. The Marti report stated it was one of one since it was NOT manufactured with one at the factory. Nowhere does it show the item was deleted nor any credit back to the customer. My family always special ordered our cars through the 1960's, 70's, 80' and 90's. And my father sometimes ordered the car with some deletions so I'm very familiar with this procedure. Hope the clarification helps.
I have a red 72 myself once had a guy come up to me at a gas station and say hey is that the general lee from dukes of hazard or I get is that the starsky and hutch car all I can do is sigh 😔
