We got the Jaguar home safe and sound now it's time to wash it down and see what we have. This car has been stored in a basement for the last 40 years and it's just seeing daylight and soap for the first time 🔥www.hiltzautoco.com
That car deserves a second chance at life. It's as if it's been waiting for you all these years. You can almost see it smiling... Good buy. Peace and love from the UK 🙏.
My XJ6 is at the 'scrap it' or 'throw money at it' stage. It's worth more as a parts car. But I'll not let it die, so it's now with a specialist who will get it back to as it should be. Magnificent cars.
Fern grey with moos green leather, the camouflage time of Jaguar - very special - very rare I was looking for this combination with manual box for years from Denmark to Sicily . I found 5 fern grey cars in the web within this time - but no Moss green seat and no manual gear box Finaly I gave up and bought a black car with beige seat and manual Happy Driving - greetings from Germany
Here's a top tip, when closing the bonnet stand in front of the car facing the car, place your hands 'palms up' and grip just inside the grill with fingertips, then with a smooth motion lift and the bonnet will close without crashing as long as you get your speed correct. THIS IS THE CORRECT WAY TO SHUT A XJ6 bonnet.
That's exactly how I close my bonnet.👍 It also prevents the hood from flexing and hitting the fenders, which is exactly what happens if you pull the bonnet down from one side of the car.
Wish I had a person , like yourself, live near by. Very rare these days. But, just watching this makes me pumped up to keep working and "playing" with my Jag. Yours is a beauty!
Congratulations Sir Bad Chad and Lady Jolene! Your hard work has brought about new connections, work, friends, and a Jaguar. I can't wait to see more videos on the progress of your two cars. Your work must be very rewarding in terms of success. You have earned it!
Hi Chad great video again and what a great car it its 😉 i drove the automatic 35 years ago im 58 now its stil one my favorites car's 😉 i wish you a nice day or night and stay save greetings to al from the Netherlands Chiel
Great job to all Hiltz crew!!, Absolutely the best content around. Congratulations on the new car and thank you for all your time creating our window of which to have a peek at your journey. 👍
I love how Chad is dealing with people. Such a decent, down to earth and honest guy. He is not only good with cars, but has good people skills. Love what you are doing Chad!
You got yourself a well honest Jag there , I would just do the localised repairs, thoroughly detail it and keep it as a survivor car, the market is loving these at the moment and as soon as you drive it you will realise why. Great motors, sorely under rated, can’t wait to see you progress with this lovely motor, good luck bro
Taking those gas tanks out is a major, major project. See if you can flush them and seal them in place. Save you a lot of work. They put the gas tanks in and built the car around it.
happiest day of my life was the day I bought a Jaguar. The second happiest day of my life was when I sold it a few years later after sinking $30k into repairs over 5 years.
I really like those first generation XJ6s. With your car it has two things that I love: Green with green interior, very sober and elegant! Then, it has a 4 speed manual, I had the chance to drive one of thos during the 80s and it was a blast, much nicer and exciting than a Merc...
you got to get that going and give it the respect it deserves, its a Beautiful car and very rare with the manual box im going to subscribe to watch your progress
I so love the old jags and how I would love to have that out side my flat. And I know it's now in the hands of some one that loves cars as so you know just how much to do to a car. And as it's not a automatic you have something you will have a super time in and will have many happy miles in it. Thank for all your super videos and as I was a body shop man well ran one what you do it well out of this world. Thank for showing us you way of doing this a may you keep doing super cars.
That is such a wicked car, 4 speed is hard to find and its mint. The wood is in great shape for sitting so long. Their 4.2L was used in so many of the Jags and 2 military tanks. Pretty solid.
Your content and editing keeps getting better and better ! Bravo . . . also your attitude about " wheelin', and Dealin', and trading and selling, is Spot On . . . " What Goes Around Comes Around "
Bad Chad, keep us posted on this one as we are British and Jaguar fans based in UK, therefore very sensitive towards old jags. Your Jag does look great by the way.
Those Jags are awesome! On my top -10 list of greatest cars of all time. Just because of the lines. Don't know anything about mechanics... And you really got a good price! You'll have a lot of fun with it.
I have a 1972 Jaguar XJ6 although it has a bit of a hot rod motor in it now it's actually a pleasure to work on lot easier to work on than most cars I think they had the mechanic in mind when they designed the car so that it would be easy for you to keep up I heard that they have cam follower problems but there is a kit you can get for that mine is black and chrome same wheels pretty much the same trim I think it's a joy to drive very smooth it's almost relaxing to drive I think you will really enjoy it I know I sure love mine
While I'm not a fan of some of the hotrod stuff, I really love your passion and life philosophy and hope you can do the right thing with this car and take it back to close to it's original condition.
I have the same year and model Jag sitting in my garage. Your car looks like its pretty much original and in amazing shape. Mine was way worse when I bought it in 1987.
Those are cool and still pretty affordable. I wouldn't do it to that one but they do look cool with V8 swaps, mag wheels with fat rear tires, and side pipes. At least I think they look cool that way. But there are plenty of trashed ones to pick from to do that too.
You’ve got a great car for how much you paid for it also with you and Jolene being able to do all the work to if that’s going to save so much money in labour and parts also the colour on this car fits it’s so wet and I can’t wait to see when she’s roadworthy again also I’m so happy for you and jolene being able to have so much fun together picking and building these dream cars together and thank you so much for sharing your life Journey with all of us
That’s a really cheap price for overall a good condition Jaguar XJ6 and especially a manual one, which is rare. It’s definitely work fixing it up. Such a timeless design.
Love it !enjoy I have an 87 xj6 vdp with 48,000 miles I am the second owner . And like my beautiful wife so far she turns over on every cold morning! 😊🙏🥃🇺🇸
the early xke is my absolute favorite body style of all time the first 1 i ever set in i was 14 and it belonged to the road comisioner hear where i live it was a yellow 1 with black inside and black convertable top man it was a beuty i love the fit and finish and inside of these but i would want the straight shift only everyone iv talked too say the automatics are total junk you scored a nice 1 buddy i hope you enjoy it and i do like this colour.......
From my experience working on those in the UK and Austria during my misspent youth I can confirm it was a very good price. Back in Blighty for that money you'd get a rust bucket requiring hours and hours of cutting and welding. It's also the desirable 4sp OD, most were sold with Borg Warner autos. If as I suspect you in Canada got a similar spec to ours (Austria can have lots of snow) then it may even have a limited slip diff. One thing I've noticed is it has a nose bleed stance which it should not - ask the seller what springs are fitted up front (V12?). Cheers from Austria.
