1973 Jaguar XJ6 Series 1 

Probably the Best looking Saloon Car Ever

Hi from Sydney , Australia, beautiful car , lovely to see a near 50yr old car in as new condition. When I was young I wanted a long wheelbase series 1 xj6 in navy blue with navy seats , however could not find one, LWB' series 1's are really rare, made for just 16months and just 2600 body shells in all versions out of 98,000 series 1's. When you split up all the versions left or right hand drive , jaguar or Daimler, 6cyl or V12, or the expensive Vanden Plas v12 , that gives just 300 odd of each variant. Eventually I bought a Regency Red one with pale leather called biscuit (almost off white) I owned it 32 years from 1979, bought with 18,200 miles on it at 5 years old, sold with 190,000miles on it to a mate, as I had the opportunity to buy a 1 owner 1967 420G, (or mk10) which had just 52,000 miles on it , I still own the 420G and have chalked up 40,000miles on it now. Your 73 XJ6 looks terrific in the identical colours I wanted the LWB version all those years ago .

Dad had a new series 1, 4.2 litre , in 1974 we were amazed by this car. The performance and the silence. And the comfort, The handling also , The induction roar and the acceleration chiefly stick in my mind

Beautiful luxurious car

What a beautiful car! I have been a Jaguar fanatic since I was 8yrs old (Now 58) and was introduced to the marque by my dad when he bought a Jaguar 420G when I was 8. Have had many XJ's since then and own a Series 2 XJ6 4.2L and also an XJ8 3.2L today. The Series 1 XJ is in my opinion, the most beautiful saloon car ever built and it's even more glorious when in a dark colour. The dark blue of this one is perfect, I so wish I owned it. One day I hope to get one. Bin the silly intro and outro, just feature cars like this and your channel will grow, ohh, and don't film yourself with the drone. Other than that, the angles, the light, the location, the car and video are all superb! Thumbs up for that and have subbed for more of the XJ6. P.S. The last version of the Jaguar XJ as seen being followed in the video, what a pig ugly monstrosity it is. Put the two side by side and you would have beauty and the hideous beast!

Great car so far ahead of its time

An absolute Beauty, my lottery win dream car has always been an XJ either 1/2/3 never tire of seeing vids about them. I will look forward to more :)

I felt like a King driving my 74 XJ12L. I was only 22 when I put a 350 chev but wished I kept the V12. I might buy a series one minus motor and box as they are sweet rides 👍

Lovely looking car.... So modern in handling and ride.... The only drawback I see is they could do with an extra gear for motorway cruising...but hey in its time was acceptable... My late father had one
