@@AlejandroP1980s not sure. I've heard from many that the Boss351 held the crown for being the fastest production mustang in its day. Quicker than the big blocks. Thats only regurgitated information though. 🤷🏼♂️
My 71 Mach 1 fastback with 351 ram air with factory T45 hurst 4speed , I took on Chargers , beat a 455 69 firebird project car ... Camaro with open header then ran scared and disappeared and to whomping Camaros at top speed on highways ... these new Mustangs don’t have it like them 68-71 eras. Them longer bods handle way better than these smaller bods by far ...
@@juanitoguns7595 375 to the wheels stock? Doubt that. Even a big block would have a hard time doing that. The big block 428 was rated 335 but really had about 400 or so at the engine which is nowhere near 375 to the wheels. That would be 430-450 horsepower at the engine.
My father had a 73 Mach 1 mustang and modified it to four barrel carburetors back in the day and said it was one of the fastest cars he ever drove to this day. That's impressive coming from a basically 50-year-old stock car.
I am interested, I have Black Sunshine, 71 351 4V (M code, better then the later Q code) RAM Air, 4sp Hurst shifter all orignal with 21k orignal miles, plus it is the rarer Raven Black (color code A), beautiful and fast. If I could post a picture, I would.
All I gotta say is, fuck the environment. Old school all day long. I got old school and new school but fuck, the old stuff is so much more fun than my Camaro 2SS
Awesome race captured in a great video. Adding the mini vans made it even more fun and entertaining! Encore and rematch/challenge the winner?!!! big guy motorcycles and adding kid scooters or bikes on the second race next time ? :)

Hey Greg, I’m in South Orange County and I have a 73 convertible 351 with two barrel heads and an Edelbrock performer manifold with a Holley 600 I wanted to know what manifold do you have on that 351? I’d like to put a RPM air manifold on my car but I’m not sure if it’ll fit under the hood.
John Mcclane your very much right. I’ve been working on a 71 mustang with a 351c in it the last few weeks. While I’ve been swapping out things like the intake and carb and plan to rebuild the engine I’m amazed how many things are still kicking after 50 years spending the better part of 25 years sitting. I don’t expect that kind of longevity from a modern mustang.
A suggestion: make them both stock, so that there is a better chance, because who ever has more money, can put more upgrades on it. Also, that Mach 1 mught have a lot more value on it if it were stock. I still don't know why people think that if they modify and old car, they can sell it for a fortune. I once saw a 55' Nomad for sale at $300,000. It was modified. Pretty sure it wont sell.
Wow! Awesome.race captured in a great video. Adding the family vans to the race made it even made more fun and entertaining! Big guys’ motorcycles and Razor kids scooters/bikes next time ? Lol
Too bad the OG mach 1 is such a fat ass lol.... best I did in my '73 was 15 flat, on a 2 barrel carb... I pushed 12s after the 8 pack carb upgrade. Dialed in is around 10.4xx right now...
I had a '73 mach-1. It was slow, inefficient, couldn't turn, wouldnt stop. But back in '85 I was so cool... went to college for automotive design. Got laughed out of Ford in '93 by Jay Mays- "no one wants old cars, kid". I left. He took credit. Fucking Ford. Bought an 88 LX 5.0 five speed, new. Eh. Meh. My omni glh turbo ran circles around it.
They are both Ford products (Shetland Ponies).... So, no one gives a fuck? Which Richard Simmons impersonator will push their Secretary's Car to it's limits?
