I just got a 1979 varsity for free dude. 100% shwinn. Left side badges gone. But it is all there. Tires no rot even the pads. Road 12 times then sat in storage. What's a bike like that worth?
My parents bought me a 1975 Schwinn varsity with the same color. I actually had that lock it was thrown in by the bicycle dealer when my Parents purchased the bike. The lock had a chain with a Foggy transparent plastic cover.It’s in my garage somewhere. I’m 61 years old and I still have my Schwinn Varsity and I’m presently trying to sell it on craigslist, Los Angeles California/ Sylmar and also Facebook marketplace. I want to $250
I have a 75, same color with lights and generator and a mileage counter. 99% original. I am the only owner but I would love to get a set of those chrome fenders. And mine is in as good if not better condition.
They are real smooth. They aren't fast or agile and they weigh about 30lbs, but they are definitely comfortable. You could swap out some bars and turn it into a cruiser and it would be perfect.
