I never should have clicked on this video.😩 _Gawd, how I miss my _*_Thing!_* Mine was a '74 like this one (with the flare in back, which I prefer). It was initially a pale sun bleached yellow, so I had it repainted a brilliant sunburst yellow. I had all the chrome points powder coated black as an accent. I invested in the same sort of glass windows from *The Thing Shop* in Arizona. Only the front windows would slide open. I also ordered a cover for the top when it's down. I really regret selling it. At the time I was living in an apartment and could not have two cars. I simply had to give up the one that was less practical. I had to keep the one that was going to get me to work everyday. Of course, it's been 20 years since I sold it, I think about it all the time. I would always say that _it was the best antidepressant in the world._ I was always happiest when I drove that car.

Jeff, I did get the chance to ride in one of these about 1977 from Anchorage to Copper River, AK. I felt like Colonel Klink for a while. Love the "Motor"vational video trips down memory lane.

That Z28 is pretty sweet. It's got the DZ 302 in it and it's a pretty rare color.

Back in '74 I traded a '72 chevy nova gas hog for a '74 bug and increased m.p.g. to 30.I wish I had both cars back now. Thanks for the memories.

Really nice car. Sometimes I'm wondering, what the owner must think. He put so many work hours and money and do not exchange turn signal gasket?

A few bits still missing. No windshield wipers and the heating system has been deactivated. OEM exhaust would look better than what is currently installed. Nice paint though.

I had a '73, loved it in the Summer but it only had a gas heater which worked fine until it got hot and the fuse blew. Then the heat quit, not so good in Ohio Winters. The doors could be filled with ice to keep the beer cold for Summer driving. Wish I'd kept it........

Would make a good electric car.
