Yes Sir!!! They are Heavy, took me by surprise the first time I picked it up to carry it down a flight of steps just after I paid for it. After the work I put into it, sounds great though.
I found a 1976 Super Reverb on OfferUp for $150, like yours it has all late 1975 date codes, even the speakers are the 52nd week, except for the Reverb driver transformer which dates to the 2nd week of 76. I'm just glad it's not the ultra linear version which came out right after they must have finished up all the leftover 1975's. Mine had water damage rot on the bottom so I found a old Fender Bandmaster Reverb head shell for $100 on Reverb and made it into a killer head and lost the weight of the 4 - 10" speakers.
Wow thats cool. $150 that is a steal for a Super Reverb. I have a 1968 Super as well I need to finish up the video on it. They rock. I got this Twin for $650. By the time I bought parts and did repairs and re-coned the speakers I’m in it for around $950-$1000. Most of them I see for sale around St. Louis are $900 and up In usually needing work conditions.
hi. for better tones ide put the best preamp tubes in v1 and v2 and the modern tubes down the chain. so v2 is the tremolo channel's preamp the most important tube in the amp ide put the rca there. then put the sylvania in v1 that's the normal channel's preamp. the jj and national can go to v4(2nd gain stage/reverb return) and v5(tremolo). enjoy!
Typically when you only replace a pair of tubes in these amps, you put one of each type on the left and right side, not a pair on the left and a pair on the right. The load is unbalanced in the configuration shown.
I was wondering about that. I am not an expert. This amp has a balance pot and I installed a bias trimmer pot. I balanced the pairs then set the bias. Seems to sound good. Anything you think I should be measuring? Thanks for commenting there is always more to learn in this hobby.
