Cadillac Coupe De Ville 77 CDV Near Mint 1 Owner 28,000 Original Miles Walk Around Video Test Drive www.1ownercarguy.com This is quite possibly one of the cleanest classic cars I have ever owned. I am not sure if is been painted all of the platic filler pieces in the bumpers are there and in Great shape I would thing something has been replaced i was told the lights are differet i dunno I do know This is a beautiful 1 Owner 77 Cadillac Coupe De Ville that I really Believe only has 28K Original Miles on it. That is very rare for a car like this. Its Impossible to know on a older car like this before 6 digit odometers and Auto check..;-) It sure seems like 28k though It has the 7.0L 425 Big Block in it and man the car fires right up and runs, drives, and shifts great. Everything on the car is tight and I just couldn't believe how low the miles were on this car. The exterior is beautiful and I just love the baby blue paint with the color matching half vogue top. The paint looks great and has a nice shine to it. It has a ton of chrome and the factory wheel covers that look great. The interior is just amazing. It has the color matching leather interior and it is one of the cleanest I have seen. The seats and carpet show almost no wear. This car is fully loaded with all of the options. You will be hard pressed to find a cleaner classic car then this.

From Wikipedia:
1977 was Cadillac's 75th anniversary, and saw the introduction of the downsized De Ville coupes and sedans. These new cars featured a higher roofline, resulting in a vehicle that was over nine inches shorter, four inches narrower, and 1/2 ton lighter than the previous year, but with a larger trunk and more headroom and legroom. These were also the first De Villes ever to be marketed without fender skirts over the rear wheels. The 500 in3 V8 (which produced 190 horsepower) was replaced for 1977 by a 180 horsepower 425 in3 V8 variant of similar design.

Your probably the only honest car salesman I've seen, pointing out the defects and stuff. It's a rarity these days as most only care about making money. Wish I bought my truck off of you lol

It's a 1978 model year by the grille and the tail lights. The 1979's had a smaller mesh grille. Probably 128,000 miles given the fact that it was 35 years old when the video was taken.

I have this car now ...had it for the last 4-5 yrs. It had 55,000 miles on it when I got it. One owner, clean, quiet and all original parts. Same color but white rag half top. I've had to drive it these last few winters, here in Michigan though, not good 😬. It's time to hop out of it this year though, thinking I may sell it. I've gotten plenty of offers, just can't stand to see someone else drive by me with my baby ...lol. I was born in '77 ...so I really got attached to it. Feels like a couch on wheels when I'm driving it. I love old school cars! It is definitely time to come into the future ...I may step up to a '80 something next ...lol J/k 😉😂😂😂

I think if someone comes to USA for a longer period (like summer), buying such cadillac or lincoln to travel around some places is a great idea because it is very comfortable, big and its a real pleasure to drive it as someone already mentioned before. Cadillac and Lincoln are the cars which surely present usa. I have a couple of friends which tried that and all of them have only good memories about that.

I really miss those long hoods and all that chrome on a car. I once owned (back in the day) a 1977 Lincoln Mark V . Talk about a long hood, haha!

Nice, clean, well detailed, driver, but there is NO way it had only 28K. If you know cars at all, or have ever seen an authentic low mileage Cadillac of this vintage, you'd know that front seat was NOT a 28K mile seat, it was a relatively well preserved 128K mile seat. Even the video couldn't hide the fact it didn't ride or drive like an authentic 28K mile Caddy.

+Cereal Marshmallows Nathan, why the hostility and sarcasm when someone points out a mistake you may have made which is entirely plausible? I'm a big fan Nathan and you bust your ass working hard to make sure that nothing is covered up. But Christ man, no one can call you out or disagree with you on anything you've said in a video, even if it's a completely reasonable comment. You just dismiss and mute. No one has time for negativity but there was nothing negative in that comment. It was an enlightened comment actually. We love you bro! Guy was a bit of a dick, granted, but made great points. Anyways, proud to be a sub!

I have followed this gentleman from # 409. That is a very long time ago. I bought in 2012 a car from him for my grandson. Still has car today. I wish he would do more videos on cars, but I understand he has other Hobby's as well to share. At 84 I still enjoy his videos. I like the car videos. Personal preference. Thank you

1977-79 Cadillac Deville is my favorite: not too big as the previous model and not scant powerful as the next model. I hope one day to have one, but 4-door sedan, and preferably a Fleetwood with more luxurious interiors and 4 disc brakes.

Nice Coupe Nathan, I sadly sold my '70 CDV back in '08 after I was laid off. 472 under the hood, and all black leather inside. I bought that turquoise beauty back in '88 with only 47,250 on the odo. Sold her with 49,500 miles 20 years later!...Lost my garage space and the job at the same time. 18.5 feet of Detroits finest!...Ah that was a time.

It has a 1978 grille... the crooked bumper tells us why. The rear bumper and lights are 1978. The interior seat trim pattern is that of a 1977.

I had a 77 Coupe DeVille, and it had the same hubcaps as this car. That said, the taillights are definitely not from a 77. It looks like this car has bits from a 78, or the car is actually a 78.

Definitely not a 1977....I had mine for 20 yrs. The 77 had the half wrap-around tail lights, the turn signal/park lights were clear, different grill. I got mine when I got my driver's license as my parents bought it the year before and wanted and El Camino instead. When I got it in 78 it had about 700 miles on it. Loved that car.

Awesome original car, Nathan. Truly museum quality. The Cadillac 425 is an incredible smooth and very torquey engine. It will move that big coupe around without any complaints. These '77's really are about 600 lbs. lighter than the '76's so they move and handle really well. Although Seville's are my favorite, a Coupe de Ville is a very close second.

Sweet ride!Cars of that vintage suffered major horsepower cuts 1972-1983 I believe the "Malaise era". Maybe we are better off not knowing the horsepower numbers of this car!Still cars at lease had personality and character back then compared to mass produced stamped out rubbermade can computer powered cars of today!
@claudioauriemma5886
@claudioauriemma5886 7 лет назад
+max penrose Absolutely right! Luxo-barges of this vintage needed at least 300 400 500 horsepower to haul them around! The engines they had were from the 1960's but they were pathetically emasculated from their original power. A Mitsubishi Mirage today could give any of those cars serious trouble in a drag race!They were smog choked to the hilt too! Peace to you!
@claudioauriemma5886

Interesting. Exterior wise it's a 78 by grille, front marker lights, rear taillights and rear bumper. There should be a Cadillac script on the header and it's not there. So that says car has been repainted at one point. Pinstripe is not correct on the trunk Thicker stripe should be on top and thin underneath. However, the interior is 77. Power seat switch was on the bottom edge of seat itself and not on the door. Also the remote window switch that you fumbled with is within the woodgrain assembly and that is correct for 77. 78 had them on the armrest. Horn pad for 77 was only crest for the Devilles. 78 had the V under it.

I have had a hand full of the 77 to 79 full size cadillacs with the 425 V8,and that 425 is the same block as the 472-500 used from 1968 to 1976. That engine in that 77 Cadillac in your video is actually better than any rolls Royce engine or any Mercedes benz engine and can literally last 60 years if it is treated right with proper oil and coolant. Its saying a lot to say that engine is better than even the rolls Royce 415 as far as longevity BUT IT IS!!! It was an American misfit though in the way of placing a 60 year engine in a car body that rusted and for wrecked in the first 10 years. It was a waste of engineering to put these in cars and allow idiots in America to buy them. That engine belonged in a 150k dollar car that would be an investment for generations.

Something amiss here. 78 taillights with a 77 front end
@tomp2497
@tomp2497 8 лет назад
Cereal M. is correct it's a 77'. The rear bumper is off a 78', 77' had a reflector between the rub strips and different tail lights. 77' used rubber not plastic rub strips on the rear bumper with a metal backing similar to what is used on the front center bumper section, the 77' rear rub strips typically get warped with age unless the car is very low mileage and was pampered. 77' was the only year clear front parking lights were used, 78'-79' used amber. 77' devilles used a "see through" Cadillac hood ornament, this was its final year and was a carry over from 76'. The upper and lower grilles have square openings, the 77' is egg-crate . The steering wheel horn crest (13:50) and the vinyl top sail panel (8:05) don't have a 'V' under the crest , the speedometer has a 5 mph digit, 78'-79 went from 0 mph to 10 mph, the seat pattern is unique to 77' (11:02) and the driver door door lock is rotated 90 degrees, all these details are unique to 77'. Under hood only the 77' had a round air cleaner hose with metal clips which was a carry over from 76' (14:59) , 78-79 had a more oval shaped with plastic clips. I've owned 77'-79' C body Cadillac's from 1979 to present day so I could go on and on but that would get boring quick...
@dougr3142
@dougr3142 4 года назад
ALSO: At 13:43 (and various other places) the power window switches were unique to 1977. They used that sort of "Y" shaped switch for one year only which was a bad design because they would break off easily; they went back to the same switches Cadillac had used since sometime in the 1950s for 1978. So, yes this car is almost certainly a 1977 with a 1978 grille (and possibly the hood) and rear bumper/taillamp bezels. I can't recall for sure: Did 1978 have a "V" under the crest on the steering wheel or not? I know'77 definitely did not.
