Whoever worked on the rear suspension last is what I call a "HIRED KILLER!" Because as you said: "HE'S LUCKY HE DIDN'T HAVE THE WHOLE BACK END COME APART ON HIM!" THANK YOU FOR HONESTY, WHICH IS A RARE THING ANYMORE AMONGST US MECHANICS.

Yeah, the pandemic made it even worse. Fortunately, we got them and continued the build.

Wow thank you so much for your awesome how to videos! A definitely a fan of your channel. I ran across your channel after watching new legends - anything scout channel. Those guys are awesome!! I have a 73 scout and I’ve been trying to figure out how to lift the body off frame with without a hoist. Like you said most of us simple peasants lol DONT have a hydraulic hoist in our garage. BUT also most of us don’t have a giant Jack stand. But hey still I think I can make it work with they way you did it. I was also thinking of buying a $500 crane from summit racing and chain up the body to lift. But your way is GENIUS!! Thank you!!!! Keep doing what you’re doing Bro you have an awesome Channel. Love the background beats too!!

I was going to call the shop but was thinking you could give us a range on what a resto like this would cost? I see one on FB market place in good shape for 12k, After I buy it I would be looking for a shop to do something like this. I'm really enjoying the series

Like most scouts, this truck has had some parts flipped around. Disc brakes in the front were standard beginning 1974

See episode 4 at 6:22 for the weird explanation.

@@musthaveclassics good detective work! It took me awhile to figure out that my 76 had a engine from a 70 in it!

Check those header flanges. Those old school Hooker headers where notoriously known for warping due to the flange being to thin.

What would the axles and transfer box be worth on a scout 1978

I don't think it's a 77,,because by my understanding,,scout had completely phased out drum brakes on the front. In 73 and 4 when they used Dana 30 front end they used drums . The 2nd year they used a Dana 44 front they dumped the drums. I had a 75 that had discs. I've had 2 70s, a 75 and a 79

Check out episode 4 for the weird explanation. It didn't make any sense at first until we dug a little deeper into the build.

Why not sand blast the frame and do it right? And rough Country come on man get a Quality lift kit , all that time and money spent and then you put crap parts on it . Do it right the first time and you wont have problems down the road .
