I apologize for the occasional microphone noise. It was bouncing a little when I was holding it! Sorry! Enjoy the video! Also DUAL - E, make sure you shoot me an email or DM on IG!
Thank you so much! I never would have thought in a million years I would have ever won a give away! I did send you a DM on Instagram. Thanks again and excuse me while I go buy my self a lottery ticket!🤣
Just found you guy….. I had a 1970 CJ5 back in 1976. Lifted it 3” and had 36” Armstrong Mudders on white rims, and it had side pipe headers. It was red with a white top. Put a full roll cage in it and high back seats. Took it off road just about every week just to bring it home and clean it up for the next week.
I love the 5 , I have one I bought new in 73’ plan on passing it down to my son someday . I did a little work on it stuff like 5.7 LT1, atlas, disks all around, gears, and lot more.
nice jeeps guys, brought back memories so thick i can taste them. i did full body off on ‘72 cj5, 304 same as you in 1986 the year i married the woman of my dreams. Did everything right down to re-arching springs, custom dash i designed and cut myself etc. Made the same boo-boo you did, I carried bare block into the basement, complete rebuild over the winter then discovered after installing crank, cam, pistons etc., I couldn’t carry it back up the narrow stairs. Ended up making a custom dolly for it and pulling it up the concrete stairs with a neighbors quad. 1990 my first daughter born, had to sell, tough decision but the right one. 2020, retired and got my hands on a ‘74 cj5. original 304. 55,000 original miles, one owner. have pics of him driving it off the lot. Working on it now, engine goes back in tomorrow. Thanks for the video, listening to your dad brought back some great memories.
Nice! When I was 17 my dad gave me a used 77 cj5 golden eagle v8 with the Levis package and it was awesome, it would go places my friends in their bigger trucks wouldn't go. It was like a goat! Mine had headers with glass packs with 90 degree elbows and it was loud! wish I never sold it but i broke it so many times.
Congrats Dual-E! Seeing these walkthroughs makes me want to snag a FJ40 and do a full resto. I’d love to have a sick classic to cruise in. Hmmmm. I like the sound of the purple, and the style of the red. But, I’m short so that may be why haha.
Grew up with a 79 CJ7 with a 360 that had dual exhaust that exited just in front of the back tires. Sounded a lot like the purple one. I want it back after hearing it.
Purple CJ5 Sounds way better. I have to say overall I like the mild build of the CJ7 though. I like the american racing wheels that are on it, but I honestly think anything chrome with the same era style would be fine! Beautiful jeeps!
I like the cjs old school cool you growing up around the cj7 being built my story of the covered wagon I have one but it's with a 78 bronco I have it too first vehicle my grandpa bought in 81 that had ac it had a factory am radio he bought it from a person he knew in WV last truck or cover wagon he owned he was a retired gunnery sgt and also signed up for one year through the state to be a park ranger me as a kid riding in the back seat and a bunch of camping trips seeing that truck what I remember if you ever get back into WV and want a experience look up the cranberry lodge it's pretty pricey but usually a bunch of people go up there as a family so the more people the cheaper it is and it's on top of a mtn real pretty view of the cranberry glades just don't go in the winter cause vehicles get stuck on top of the MTN with the ice
That’s awesome. I love the memories that I have with these jeeps. I will never forget them! I will definitely have to check it out, I love exploring new places. Thank you!!
@@BuiltDifferentGarage yeah man you can look it up online my aunt and cousin take care of the lodge you look it on the internet or Google search the picture will make you wanna go it's 3 story lodge that runs on solar power got hot tub and all a way to get away take in the beauty of part of the valley of wv
I like the sound of the CJ5 better but overall I like CJ7 better. As for the tires on the 7, I think some with the white letters facing out would be cool to fit that 70/80’s era. Both are awesome.
Just bought a 1986 CJ7 auto w Air. None run, bad rod. In,process of R&R Mtr. May upgrade to newer Mtr 2000 and up. Located a 1999 with Engine and Trans with Transfer case. May just do that Mode.
On the cj5 steering.may be off.due to ball studs.with.wrong inclination as happens when.the.axle is tilted upward to lessen.driveshaft.angle. on some builds they cut the king pin or ballstud ears off.and weld back on at the factory. Angle
@@BuiltDifferentGarage yeah that's my pick also I love CJ's too. I've got an 83 CJ5 I've had since I was 22. I've used her for hunting fishing, kept her up for all these years. To this day people still Drool on it. If I can figure out how to send you a picture I would she's very Worthy. Good talking to you have a great day bro.
Great video of 2 very good looking jeeps! But I do have a question for you both…. You mention that both jeeps have a 4" suspension lift. And I think on the cj5, you mentioned that it also has a 3" body lift. On the red cj7, what size tires are on it? And any body lift on the cj7? Thanks!!
Soy el orgulloso dueño de un cj5 1979, desde hace 14 años ... así que mi opinión es parcial pero ese cj5 se oye mucho mejor que el cj7 ... Saludos desde Veracruz México
The cj5 and cj7 last of the jeeps to have a V8 with the transmission with the cj5 and cj7 you had to order the jeep with a auto from the dealership and wait for it to come in what I heard more standard transmission on the lot but imagine if the tj had a factory option for the V8 like aev was doing with the jeeps back in the day when they were new a hemi wouldn't that be cool
God if the TJs had a factory option V8, that would be insane! Well finally Jeep has been listening to the people wanting a V8 back in the Jeep. We’ll see how that goes haha.
@@BuiltDifferentGarage if it wasn't for bronco coming out I believe thats why they did it they were running the hemi in the prototype in Moab it took this long but also I'm hearing international coming back out with the scout they already got a buggy there testing
We have had black wheels on the CJ7. We felt they didn’t fit well with the rest of the build. If we find the right set that look good on it then maybe we would change over.
