I had a Granada ESS with a boss 302 and a three speed o/d. Sunroof, breather on the hood. Bucket leather seats and a GT racing wheel. Walnut accents everywhere and the shifter knob was walnut. I loved it!!
Nice Granada! I’d take that in a ❤beat! My Mother had a 77 when I was a youngin. Two door, gray with maroon vinyl top and pin stripes. 302 car. Many memories ridin around in it!
Good looking car. I've always liked the look of these Fords and their 4 door versions. I do like the look of the front ends of the 75-77 over the 78-80 models. That interior is beautiful.
this had (no joke) 72 horse power with the inline 6 4.1 litter engine, 23 seconds 0-60. to compare the same year Mercedes had a 1.9 liter 4 cylinder with 92 horse power. this one one of the worst cars made in world history
When I was 16 I got my driver's license in my dad's 1978 Granada Kia it was silver with silver interior. My dad's happened to be a demonstrator model we were looking for a fully loaded Granada which were kind of hard to find they didn't make a whole lot of them was like everything and we had to shop around a lot but we found one in Pomona California and we bought a fully loaded power everything power windows locks seat lighted vanity mirrors power trunk am and FM 8-track it had the optional clock over where it says Granada in the dash that's where the 302 in it it was really a nice car that would have been 1982 when I took my driver's test?
This car was my very first car. It was this color too. I miss it so much. I don't know how to even look into what happened to it. But like all first cars mine has a story , on why I don't have it now. My mom gave it to me, she wanted me to have a way out. She knew I needed it. I wish I still had it.
That’s so cool. This car got so many looks. It was pretty fun driving it around for a few months. If you had the VIN # the local tag agency could look it up and see where it’s registered at. I love hearing peoples stories about their cars. Thanks for sharing 😊
@@CorysCarReview Sadly I don't have anything, no old paperwork, or anything. I had registered it Ca, in 1998 or 99 . Under my then married name . My mother gave it to me. But she had not changed it to her name . I don't know the previous owners names either. But that car was how my children and I were able to get out. And we stayed out of that situation. I guess moms car did what it was meant to do. That car didn't stop, it just kept going. It was not my choice to let it go. Actually it was just loaned out to some body. But they never brought it back. Anyway thank you for the video. It was nice to go down memory lane. My mother passed in late 2021 . Memories are what we have. I sure enjoyed listening to it rev up. 😊 Enjoy the rest of summer.
I’m sorry to hear about your mom 😕. Yes the memories are great. If there is a vehicle you’d be interested in me doing a video on just let me know. I hope you have a great rest of your summer as well!

These mid-late 70's "Smog cars" are fastily becoming the HIT new builds, atleast here in the West/Southwest. There's 3 reasons for this, First they are cheap, not everyone has 15k to throw down on a 72 Chevelle/69 Mustang/70 Challenger roller, these cars are 3k or under in running and driving conditions and most of the time presently tagged and being driven so they are good platforms for the younger generaton to build, they are this generations "$500 Nova". Second these are cars that the middle aged guys and girls drove in high school as a first car. 3rd reason, parts, both OEM and parts stores parts are still widely available and are cheap, for instance a repop fender for a 68 Nova is $350, a repop fender for a 78 Nova is $150, you can buy both fenders and half a hood for a 78 Nova for the price of 1 fender for a 68 Nova, from the same parts company. plus these cars were "grandma cars" and usually kept in pretty good condition to start off as a project with. Literally every project presently being built or just finished in my car club is a 73-78 car/truck. I bought a 1973 Buick Regal in January for $1200 and drove it almost 50 miles home with nothing more than starting it up and airing up the tires that were just low from sitting a couple years, I changed all the fluids and cleaned up the engine and engine bay cleaned the interior up and dyed it from green to beige and sprayed some truck bed liner in the trunk and cleaned up the original steel wheels and painted them black and put some chrome center caps on them, and still haven't spent more than 3k on it and drove it while I'm doing it. This winter I'm going to strip the body back to bare metal and paint it.
@@CorysCarReview Yep but really they were. They had everything the the "muscle cars" had once you take all the smog crap off them, especially the exhaust. Engine Power on PowerNation just did a 79 Granada and got 125 more hp simply by scraping the 1 1/2" single exhaust and going to a 3" dual exhaust, they literally almost doubled the HP just by changing the exhaust. They still had the power, it was just choked out of it.
I had a grey 1980 coupe with a straight6 and a three speed manual transmission, it was a pig and I LOVED it !!! The city of Somerville towed it and wanted$800 - 4x my price for the impound RIP Granada (that was 1989)
Cool car! I remember seeing Granadas and Monarchs on the roads even into the early 1990s, but since then, they are few and far between. Love the interior and exterior colors-very era appropriate. Nice change from beige, gray and black we see everywhere today. What's the spoiler from? Looks pretty good on the Granada, and an easy way to blend in an LED center brake light.
@@CorysCarReview our granada had a 351 but i am not sure if that was stock. my dad’s friend may have put that engine in it. i remember my dad using that car to pull a 2 horse trailer with 2 horses over rough, rocky ranch roads out in west texas. it had the ruggedness of a pickup and quite a bit of ground clearance for a car.
nice looking car . i remember i heard the garanada was suppose to look like a mercedez benz, was it ever a marketed as a muscle car ? just cruious. ps i just subscribed to your channel .
It's been added. I personally didn't like it, but didn't want to fill the holes in and have it repainted. I believe it's from a mid 90's Thunderbird though
