"Ladies And Gentlemen! Tonight, the Orange Bowl honors the most unique event staged in America in 1977! Disneyland and Walt Disney World's incredible spectacular of nighttime pageantry and imagination! In electrical sights and sounds, The Main Street Electrical Parade!"
Even though I was 4 years old, I was so amazed with all of the sparkling lights and the way that the individual figures would move in sync with the music too! Wow!!
Wynton stayton thanks for this clip I love watching old parades cause I only went to disneyland paris in Oct 2019 only that time was actually the first time I'd been abroad so thank you
Did you know that the tune used for the "Alice in Wonderland" segment was actually a synthesized version of "In the Golden Afternoon"? And there was a rather forgotten "Its a Small World" Float, too? I saw this during a behind the scenes video about the electrical parade.
Sandra Blamires Actually, it's electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds. This was right before Jack Wagner coined the word and used it in the announcement. The announcer is the same one who does the vocoder announcement as we know it in the parade.
TBH if I saw this at the Super Bowl I would be disappointed. You payed probably thousands or hundreds of dollars to go then see someone you could see at Disneyland for way less and better.
Average Fanboy 1128 That’s a fair point. I would guess that tickets to these events were a lot less at that time than they are now, and the landscape of entertainment was a lot different for halftime shows back then. Nowadays, the only place you would see such an elaborate production from Disney at an annual public event like this would be The Tournament of Roses Parade.
