I don't understand the hype here. Upgrading control arms? Sure. But the weak point is really your torque boxes not the cobtrol arms. At least in my opinion.
There is no “hype”..upgrading control arms have far more benefits than just for drag applications..drive a car with stock control arms then upgrade them and find out for yourself 🤷🏽♂️
@@eriv4735 Upper control arms make almost no difference in rear feel.... lowers are the important ones unless your trying to adjust pinion angle then upgrade the uppers. And I've run more suspension setups than I can count over the last 20 years. Sure control arms stiffen it up but not my first mod on my list unless your trying to run it down a drag strip.
These units are said (by your sales people) to improve handling, and I'm just wondering what "aspect" of handling you're referring to. Because yes, they're stronger than the OE pieces, but essentially all they do is hold the axle in place, and don't "really" need to be any stronger than the one's they replace! So I cant see how they factor in to better handling. And the cost for these things (for what they actually do) is suspect; now the adjust-ability is great, but since the average guy is just going to set their length to that of the OE's, the feature is really just a bragging chip. =) P.S. The lower control arms are the ones responsible for wheel hop, (when it happens) so touting these units as ones that reduce it? sigh.
Will this bring my one axle/ wheel back in under the fender? One side on my rear one side sticks out further then the other pretty much it’s out past the fender you can say other one is tucked in towards fender
I have this same problem on my Foxbody, I removed the rear stock upper control arms and shortened it 1/4" since it's lowered/pinion angle. I noticed the wheels seemed a bit more even after reinstalling.
@@trent12363 ya the double adjustable upper control from what I hav been told by a lot of the big mustang shops said that it will fix this issue!! Street shenanigans said same thing
Does the orientation of the bolt and nut on the axle bushing matters? I noticed that on the left side you put the bolt side head facing out and on the right side the nut is facing out....
Fernando - The way that I reinstalled the axle bushing hardware was the factory orientation. Ford's shop manual illustrates that this hardware needs to be installed the way that I instructed. Hope this helps. -Landan
