Ello - I'm doing a similar build and I'm curious to which radiator your using that has the inlet/outlets on swapped from what stock 73-79 ford radiators come with.
It probably came with a 400 M. It's basically in the same 351 M, Windsor, Cleveland engine family. Very cool, man! I used to own a '67 half ton short bed. When the original FE 352 blew up, I replaced it with a nice FE 390.
i put a 73 grill on my 79 just needed the 73 headlight buckets and changed the headlight pigtails . now i did have to redrill my inner grill for the older buckets but all in all wasnt that big of a deal
I would have found an NV5600 for that truck ! It would have bolted right up with no adapter and in my eyes, it's a better trans than the ZF5 ( I own a ZF6 and would take the NV5600 over it any day) I've driven my 02 3500 Dodge with an NV5600, hauling something almost every day of it's life. It's gone 200,000 miles and never serviced it (except a clutch.)
@@nwfarmer8724 interesting. i dont recall them as long as those. then ford went to shorter springs in the 80's which is to say no springs at all. (1986 f350 dually 4x, if youve never been abused by one of those, youve never suffered real abuse at the whim of a truck). i would wager this truck rides rather smoothly. ford did similar with front shackles. first in back, then in front then back , then bolloxed the whole mess for coils
I have a f350 74 ! Have 12 value but the transmission is allison 545 4 speed auto my question is should I stay with the transmission the f350 is a car hauler
