Wow. Beautiful. Can anyone tell me why rotaries used to be quiet but the old ones I see driving around now even though they look original, are so noisy? Are they modified?
Club 1 Fan My car was original but had a non original exhaust. Not overly loud. If you hear the engine pulsing at idle. That usually means the intake ports have been opened up. Similar effects to racing camshaft in a piston engine.
Anthony Pagano Thank you. When rotaries were released one of the advantages was smooth, silky, quiet power, but the majority of ones I see (and hear) going down the road now sound like constipated elephants taking a dump. Yours sounds (and looks) like I remember them. Yours is a gem and the first Mazda rotary (besides the 110 S or Cosmo) solely designed for the rotary engine. Enjoy.
