I remember facing Brucki back in High School... Hes a lot stronger than he looks it's crazy. I remember just shaking his hand it cracked mine. Hes always been this big though even as a Junior in high school. He ended up tech falling me, with 3 seconds left in the period. My goal was just to not get pinned. After the match I even had a black eye from the crazy strong cross face he had.
Love that cradle game. Pushing so hard for that near side cradle that he baits Brucki in to giving up the far side. Side note - love that Brucki kid, excited to see him do work this year at 197.
I'd unironically consider this to be an all time great match. Not because it was close, but just the looks of both. One looks like he's a bodybuilder, and the other looks as if he just got done streaming Fortnite all night.

i’ve long held this opinion, but Brucki doesn’t look like he was struggling even a little bit. he looks like he kind of gave up, he wasn’t trying to open up Nickal’s grip or move a leg, he just kind of spread out his arms in defeat.
Bo said he didn't cut weight his senior year while I guarantee Brucki walks around at like 210 or 220. Bo may not have a super impressive physique but he's clearly strong af.
why would princeton wrestler just walk out of bounds right after doing 95% of the work for an escape and 1 point...which bo was practically giving to him at that point...now he must start all over on the ground with 1 of the best wrestlers on top...definitely not an efficient use of his energy...in my opinion
Dolf Dervish Because the first one is not a takedown, its a mat return. You get points everytime you do something in the match that results in you gaining complete control over your opponent, and since Nickal was already in control prior to the mat return, he didnt earn any points.
man- he faked out Brucki with where he was going with that cradle lockup like Jordan Russell in the nba finals. He locked it so fast I had to rewind 3 times.
Brucki looks stacked in this video! Despite the match result, I bet Brucki could lift heavier weight than Bo in all aspects (Squats, bench, curls, etc.)

Because Bo was still on top so it just him staying on top. If Brucki escape an got 1 point and Bo did that then he would have gotten 2 points for a takedown.
Bo has leverage because of his technique. A much stronger man will lose to a man who is a bit weaker but a better Wrestler. Edit: Muscle also takes away from endurance. Take it from a guy who has Wrestled, BJJ. boxing, then powerlifting and bodybuilding lol. My lighter self would whip my heavier selfs ass probably haha.
Good job Bo but yeah I don't see him at the 2020 games J'Den Cox has that locked up. He did get a gold in the U23 doh. I'd like to see Bo follow in Ed Ruth's path and get into submission grappling, mma not so much. He should go train with lovato in okc or Travis Stevens.
