Great video thanks for posting. I discovered at trick for removing the lock nut. I made the "Honda" lock nut tool by grinding an old 1" 12 point socket down to have the four prongs to fit the nut. I used a dremel with a cutting/grinding wheel for this. My Clymer manual says to hold the clutch assembly with a strap wrench to prevent it from spinning, but it doesn't explain how to get the strap wrench on there. The trick is to remove the bearing/retainer, lifter plate, bolts and springs. Now that the lifter plate is out of there, reinstall all four spring on the pressure plate using all four bolts. Use 1/4 washers on the bolts to apply pressure to the springs. This effectively "engages" the clutch. Now, a strap wrench can be placed over the outer clutch housing, and the lock nut removed without any spinning of the assembly.
when unscrewing the clutch lock nut do you need to use a special tool to hold the basket in place? Looks like it can just rotate with the nut? How did you do it?
@@farrider3339 I ended up using a pneumatic impact driver when I did my clutch change and it went without problems. Without it you'd have to lock the basket somehow
@@lukaszM46 yes - locking the basket . He took his way around this issue by using hammer 🔨 and screw driver 😣 . . . As I said before : emergency fix in Sahara desert OK , but the slitnutkey cost very little (
