i can't get enough of the big bore 2 strokes i grew upwith them hell i was 14 yrs old n had a new 1983 yellow n black yz 490 i guess i just like how wicked they were

First bike that ever completely cleaned my bowels out! I was 15 and got off my cr125 onto this beast. Drop the clutch. Front wheel pointin at the clouds. Feet fly of pegs. Whiskey throttle across the field and ate bout 10 pounds of grass and dirt. Worst part is after watchin that vid i wana do it all over again. Can taste the dirt and hear my friends howling with laughter. DAMN GOOD TIMES!!!!

I let my friend ride mine as he assured me he could handle it. He said "it's OK I've rode a KDX 175 before". I replied "Well this isn't anything like a KDX 175!" Of course he revved it up, dumped the clutch, front wheel pointed sky high, feet immediately came off the pegs as it rocketed away, was able to at least dump the throttle, front came back down hard, almost hit a clothes line pole, got it stopped and said "Holy $hit!". I replied "I told you it wasn't anything like a KDX 175...." He had respect for it's power after that! LOL

My brother did the same thing on a 97 Yz-250,it guarantee the back tire was 10ft of the ground, I was laughing so hard i threw up the beer 🍺 I was drinking. Laughing right now.

That bike was a dinosaur back when I was riding in the early 90’s . I don’t know where you find these 30 years later . Unbelievable .

Massive respect to you guys from here in the UK. I love your vids on the mx bikes, especially the 500's . I had a husky cr 500 at 16 and loved them ever since. Had my fair share of kick backs trying to start the bloody things but you guys make it look easy. Keep up the good work guys :)

A old trick to prime is rock it back and forth in gear .No need to kick to prime & it will start first kick

The bike came out the year after I graduated from high school. It still won your shootout , Awesome ! Was that the shootout between it and the 2021 CR450F four stroke ? Sorry I missed it , can you please send me a link to the shootout ? I'd like to see Old School whip up on new technology.

Loved my CR450 with the left side kicker because I am 5'3" tall and I was able to start it! It would dig trenches better than a Ditch Witch! Stick it in 3rd gear and ride it in most places with just the throttle.

@@kevinmygreenenergy5525 Because you can stand beside it, jump up and kick it over. Where with right side kicker you have to straddle the bike that is too tall to kick and touch the ground at the same time.

it has the stock sprocket cover and that’s the most rare thing in the world. First thing we do is remove them and trash em. I just paid 380$ for one for mine. Number plate back ground is suppose to be yellow Really looks off without that goofy stock plate they did for this year.

1981 CR450R. 450? They have 431 cc. And a top speed of 70mph. Its little brother the cr80r will.hit.about 70mph . 6.speed tyanny.

Don't know if it was the coolest but it was certainly the worst. Gotta give Honda credit though, they went from the worst open bike to one of the best by the next year.
