My great aunt had an 80 Phoenix, and I used to frequently ride in the back seat. I remember as a child thinking that the car seemed comfortable and cozy. This brings back lots of memories!
Wow thank you so much for uploading this! I used to have an 82 SJ and I loved that thing! Super fun car and I liked the looks. If I had the money, of course I would have bought a Trans Am, but at the time even a used SJ was stretching it. Lots of miles and smiles I put on that car! 😊
I would much rather have a Phoenix over the silly modern crossovers we have today. I know they were terrible cars, but at least they have better looks, more room, and have a lot more character.
11 "recalls" on the 1980's to be completed prior to sale. Brake issues, recall, Many of the early production 1980 models had "orbital steering issues" I know because at the time I was a Pontiac service manager and I cost Pontiac dollars and several buy backs. To save a buck Pontiac didn't install a steering rack brace, the entire toe panel (Yet Buiick, Olds did from the factory. Fisher body issued a pre sale recall to install doublers on the rear 1/4 are because it was weak. Then lets not even talk about the aweful paint, body and trim fit. These early models were awful.
My friend Bill Simmons had an '84 Phoenix back in the day, & he drove me to & from the New England Aquarium in it one day for a field trip.........WHAT A POS!!!!!!
