I remember this game,a year before the classic new years eve Seahawks shocking win on the last day of 1983,27-20 thriller, but like they say a rematch with these Dolphins has a very little chance of winning, and the Dolphins got revenge as they destroyed Seattle.

The Seahawks got revenge on the Raiders. The Dolphins got revenge on the Seahawks. The 1984 playoffs were a revenge tour for both teams. All the important bounces in this game favored Miami. The Seahawks really missed Curt Warner.

@ 9:11 even an incomplete pass, it’s still pretty to look at. A 50yard rifle that must not have been higher than 10yards in the air... Marino’s passes are such a thing of beauty Btw, not Marino’s finest game but it’s still so much fun to watch him throw the ball!

Apparently, the fans were sure that Denver would be heading to Miami for the AFC Championship Game. Unfortunately, Pittsburgh upset Elway's Broncos so no Elway-Marino match-up materialized. But Eason-Marino (85) and Kelly-Elway (91) and Kelly-Marino (92) would come to fruition as far as AFC Championship Game contests between class of 83 alums.

What the hell was Pete Johnson's infraction that caused him to be in Shula's dog house for Super Bowl IXX a few weeks later, as he did not play in the big game that year? Also..too bad that we always see that season (1984), the "20" on the back of all the Dolphins helmets for the late great David Overstreet.

Great revenge win ! The 1983 playoff loss to them stung but had a wild finish where it looked like Miami would win with Gerald Small's INT and Bennett's TD. Largent caught I believe 2 passes that day, both on Seattle's game winning drive late. Fulton Walker amazingly fumbled two kickoff returns very late that kept Miami from trying a comeback.

This was a then NFL record setting season for Marino, 48 TD passes! The problem was that Miami had not learned its lesson from the 1983 SB loss to Washington, and still relied on the so called Killer Bees defense that cost them that SB when they were unable to stop The Hogs & Riggins. The 1970s era of the No Name D, where you could put slow white guys in the D-line and backfield were long gone. Montana & SF put a hurt on Miami in the SB, once again the SF RB, Roger Craig, had a great game and the Miami D was simply out performed.

Von shaman , hands down, was the worst field goal kicker ever. To this day I don't know why Shula kept him on the team. It was a rarity to see him kick a field goal 40-49 yards : lifetime 14 for 34... Even worse , a shorter distance between 30-39 he was lifetime (34 for 49). He seemed like a nice guy but was not a field goal kicker, he lucked out. Shula was a very kind man.

Roger Craig was the real problem that Super Bowl. Just like Riggins was the year before. The AFC was a passing conference. Defenses didn't get built to stop 1000 yard backs every week. They were small, fast defenders that couldn't stand up to being battered for four quarters which is why the Dolphins D faded in the 4th against so many running teams.
