Im your 200th LIKE! I love me some K cars. I had an 87 that my dad bought my sister in like 1999. The engine blew and my friends dad just opened a garage and threw in a 2.5 ltr from a dodge shadow. It was a bit quicker than the original 2.2. It needed new back tores and i just haooened to have a pair of 205 from a taurus that i slapped on it. It made it look like a rear wheel drive car. Kind of higher rear end where the trunk was level, instead of angling down. I miss the hell out of that car. My parents also had a Dodge 600 that ran for about 3 years. My dad said it blew a head gasket, so i spent a summer tearing it down to the block. Turned out there was a chunk blown out of one of the cylinders. Scrapped it. Now im looking at an 84 Lebaron convertible coupe. Pretty much a 2 door 600 or convertible 400. They want 2500 and it has 100k on it. Hopefully i can wrangle up the cash and get it.

I was a limo driver in the late '80s and we had one of these POSes. It had the talking instrument panel that would cut off the radio to tell me "YOUR OIL PRESSURE IS LOW", which it wasn't. My customers must have felt sorry for me because I still got a good tip.

You didn't show us the fold-out rear-facing leather jump seats hidden in the divider wall. My daughters loved riding in the back with a bunch of friends, while mom & dad rode up front. Much nicer than the minivan we looked at first. Older daughter was waiting for classmates to boast that their boyfriends would be renting a limo for grad night. She was so ready to say "That's nice. My daddy's giving me a limo for grad!" The divider sliding window control was in the back. For rear mirror visibility I peeled the tint off the center part of the glass.

I know a guy that had a couple of these "K" limousines in his rental fleet and the thing that was interesting was when the A/C compressor would kick in will in motion the car could not get put of its own way, that said it did run great and people would special request this small limousine just because of the novelty.

I still remember the controversy when it was learned the executives would have one for few months and the odometers reset to zero and sold to the public as new. We had so many K-cars when I was in the Air Force they were even staff cars (not the limo). I think the Air Force played a role in saving them as even our pick ups were Dodge D-100s before the cool pickups came out. Neat to see the Limo and look forward to watching this tonight. ***The Chrysler Corporation was indicted today on charges of fraud for disconnecting the odometers on at least 60,000 cars used by its executives and then selling the cars as new, without the accumulated miles showing.***

As bad as that is, there's apparently a grand caravan in the '80s that had the 2.5l 4 cylinder That weighed an additional hundred pounds then this did plus had worse aerodynamics. I could see someone like President Nixon wanting to be driven in a vehicle like this as it was cushy and Nixon was More of an environmentalist so it might in theory get better fuel economy than a Cadillac or Lincoln. But if you were going to be driving, the severe lack of power I would think would completely undercut any image of luxury with feeling so slow. If the 3.3 V6 had existed back then, it wouldn't have been fast but at least would have felt okay
