We used cardboard boxes in the streets to breakdance. What an era. Wish I was back in the 80's the best memories I ever had. Loved the 80's style, the music, the Boombox and the people. Still jamming to the 80's in 2020
I know all about that. I didn’t bboy though. I skateboarded and surfed, always pushing myself to better myself. Oh and climbing many railway fences to get up. My hips, my knees, my ankles and feet don’t really like me anymore. I believe it was worth it
The good ole days .....im so glad that i loved B Boying and Metal back in the 80s .....best of both worlds .....one weekend at a Slayer show next weekend at The Funhouse .
In Hamburg we were first impressed from the Rock steady crew this days. But later the Dynamic Rockers and other follows. 1984 til 1986 I was a b-Boy much to short. Thanks a lot USA for this.

@@Boxtruckin loved her music. My sister would take us skating & all the kids who could skate really well would always over perform on songs like this. I mustve been 8-9 yrs old. I remember the 1st time I heard "the world class wrecking crue" song & them singing about sex. 😂 I loved over & saw my sister , 14-15 & she's singing w her friends & the boys & all. I just KNEW my pop was gonna kill us! Didn't know how he'd find out but I knew it was death lol.. I miss Philadelphia in '83-84🌹💘
My friends brother and my friend Alfred back in the day... I remember them practicing on the corner it had to be 84 they were so excited about going to Germany for the show! Anyone on here laughing or saying anything negative don't forget these kids weren't professional but they put their hearts into their moves at that's all that really matters
Andrey Abramovich how would you and your friends meet up last minute I know there was a pager I think it’s called but I don’t think everyone had one I feel like it felt free to not have the interest/media in your pocket that must of been good times I bet
Carried cardboard then we got some rolled up linoleum. Those were the days. Life was simple . we needed 10 D batteries for our boombox and someplace to dance
Shannon needs more credit for her sound and the explosion of break dancing. This was one of my favorites from Shannon! Not just let "Let the Music Play". Her vocals were good here and autotune!
Tiempos inolvidables, acá a Guayaquil Ecuador el break dance llegó con fuerza a finales de 1984 y fue una locura cuando estrenaron la película, en ese año tenía 15 años actualmente cumplí 55
Hahahahha u kidding right crack era stolen cars out here BULLYING was so high damn bunch of sore.losers ....don't play the see no evil hear no evil BS i remember real well of the 80s
I grew up in the 80s what are talking about. All the fights and date rapes lots of drugs and kids all drunk alchohol. Not to mention kids were being physically abused by their parents.
Man there is something about watching breaking in its prime. The moves have evolved in an amazing way and become more complex, but the original will always be mesmerizing 💛
I loved it. I miss those days so bad. I remember having a big piece of linoleum laid out on my parents patio. Had the boom box blaring Planet Rock, Jam on it, or Let the music play. Just wish I had a video camera back then. Anyway, This video is a Classic !!!

1984....I remember the times, we breakdanced on west street mob, B-Boys etc, great times, we thought that we were kings haha nowadays they do things we couldn’t dream about.
Hip hop don't stop ....... Siempre en mis venas .... Y en muchas más !!!!

I was 10 living in Los Angeles when my uncle's who were in their early 20s would show up during our birthday parties with their friends and breakdance to these songs. Great memories!
NYC Breakers, Lil Lep, Chino, Hand spin master et al. These are some of the guys that battled Rocksteady crew (Bronx Rockers) in Beat Street. Before that movie, everybody was slow & clunky, but then they bought the speed & power.
My Uncles used to dance like this in their neighborhoods (with other people) on a large piece of cardboard - it was a thing in time at some point. Sounds awesome!
Used to run over to a place called color tile and grab there biggest piece of linoleum to dance on. Head spin, back spin, etc....radio with the car tape deck and double antennas. Man those were the days! No fighting just dancing battles. Miss the foot work! Man wish i had a time machine
Olá pessoal... Eu vi como tudo começou no Brasil em 1983... Galeras todas de moletom azul, vermelho tênis Nike, asyk Faixa na cabeça um baita rádio toca fita... Loucuuuraaaa...saudade
This takes me back. Others who never were in this era may laugh at the skills but this was the foundation and this was where we started to add moves to change or be better. My sister laughs at this and of course, I get mad because she doesn't understand the limited skills we had at that time. We all thought we were fresh and we were but others were better than us. Battles and practice is how we expanded. Now, you have these breakers who are awesome but they throw in a lot of gymnastic moves, more flexibility, and creativity.
I remember practicing with them at The Ebony Showcase theater in MidCity Los Angeles. They just arrived to shoot this. The first time we ever saw Hollow Backs
I'm so glad... People were doing these dance moves at at time when I was just a baby and young child. Helping pace the way for dance history, party inclinations, and general fun ways of coordinated playons. So cool to be apart of such influence as well see other people's talents treat us with such efforts. Thank you everyone who help make it possible and more graciously organized.
Omg I miss the day when me and my homeboys would battle each other and other crews at school and parties and just have fun...I wish I could go back so bad
No knifes here ,No abuse to elders, just loving there dancing , shame young uns haven't got something to concentrate on like this, happy days 1980s Oh how times have changed.
