One of my favorite records from trumpeter Carl Hilding "Doc" Severinsen, the original Tonight Show NBC band leader. This is an excellent project called 'Xebron' during Doc's experimentation with jazz-fusion during the mid '80s. I remember when this LP came out initially in '85 and I heard it showcased quite a bit on Atlanta's old 94Q. "El Gato" I have recorded on a tape from 94Q somewhere, around 1986.

I saw this group live back in the 1980's at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach; they were really loud in that tiny venue, but they were fantastic. Thanks for posting this and triggering the memory!

One of the greatest trumpeters of all time, no other than the dynamic Doc Severinsen. One of the best than did since the Tonight Show with the late great Johnny Carson. Such a blessing to hear this classic album, and also the Tonight Show Band.

Oh yeah, I think you helped me find this album from a recording on a tape that I had. I think that was the first time I ever ordered vinyl on the internet. There weren't any digital copies available at the time. This album rules.

Interesting that Doc and Maynard went the fusion route at about the same time and neither did it for long. Doc is really stretching himself here with fantastic results.

I have this on vinyl from its release. At times the effects on the trumpet or flugel is excessive for my taste. I would have preferred a bit more of the pure tone, Doc had that.

Hey @KJCMuzique I heard your two albums on BandCamp! Love the Jazz-Fusion sound, and 80's synthesizers you got going on in those songs! Roland D-50 "Soundtrack" patch is my favorite patch!
