amazing what changing the colors on the walls and kitchen cabinets can do. It looks totally updated in the kitchen, even though you kept those original counters and cabinets, the flooring changes and the bathroom changes really update it. 🎉🎉🎉The before while it was kind of retro and dated, reflected what seems to be a loving family, living comfortably in their home. A very peaceful and serene environment.❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks I appreciate that, yes the couple who lived there was so sweet, I really enjoyed them as tenants, I wish they were all as lovable as they are, Thank you for watching again, good day.
I bought 31 acres with a 1972 mobile home on it. It was a total gut job. The place has been insulated with Rockwool, vapor barrier and drywall, walls and ceilings. No more florets! We're finishing the kitchen and bathroom now. Hickory cabinets in the kitchen and a Palisade tile system shower. Almost done!
@@frugallandlord6974 The cool part is if I build a regular house there my wife and I can stay in this place while it's built. Also the metal sheathing is coming off of it and being replaced by OSB, Tyvek (I'm the North so it needs to breathe out) and log cabin siding. It's a quarter face and made from real cedar. The difference is going to shocking.
Thank you, when the potential tenants walk through at the open houses, most people really love the colors so we used the same color for a few homes now, plus it will make it easier to repaint later on with just 1 color to buy, thanks for watching.
Thank you so much, yeah my favorite paint is the ultra pure white from behr, I like to paint the trim with this. It makes any color look better I think. Thanks for watching
You really did a great job on this one. It looks so much better and brighter. It makes it look so much cleaner and more spacious. I like the size of the bathroom in this one too. It's big for a 2 bedroom that's as old as it is.
Thank you so much, it’s nice to get positive feedback, I also know I probably could have done a few things better, I really enjoy trying my best to make a nice home for someone, thanks for watching.
@@frugallandlord6974 You're welcome. I've renovated a mobile home before and I know it has it's own set of difficulties. I wasn't trying to give you a hard time before. I just say what I really think.
Beautiful mobile home!!! You did an amazing job renovating! I hope to find a mobile home in the near future to buy! I have lived in 4 vintage mobile homes and actually my first home as a newborn baby was in a 60s mobile home back in 1984! My husband and I have lived in a small cottage house for 17 years together. I really miss the mobile home life style! I love watching your videos! These old trailers bring back memories!
Yeah you are correct but it’s what I do so I can’t keep that kind of thinking, getting to the end of a renovation is so sweet though, it more than makes up for all the struggles.😀
Warm and comfortable home but you modernized it. Fabulous job. love the ceiling painted the color you picked sure up graded it a lot just the color. Looks like a house. Great job!
Super great job! Too many different kinds before painting. I don't know why mobile home owners don't remove those wall strips and plaster over the cracks. I know it is time consuming, but it looks so much cleaner and nicer. I guess it's not in the budget for some people. Overall, the house looks fantastic. You are very good at what you do.
Amazing changes! One thing I would have done is extended the pantry to the left. I’d have taken it over to the wall to the right of the fridge. That little awkward space between the fridge wall and the pantry wall would have been eliminated and it would provide so much more enclosed storage. Another thing you may consider in your next flip, keeping with the lvp throughout the home will make the space appear larger and more open. It also avoids the need for those metal transition strips and gives a cleaner finished look.
Thanks for the input, honestly I thought the refrigerator was going in that awkward spot but it didn’t fit, and I did think about taking out the carpet, I just couldn’t bring myself to tear out the carpet that was still in great shape. good ideas I appreciate them, thanks for watching.
@@frugallandlord6974 honestly, I wouldn’t rip out perfectly good carpet, either. Just a design thought. There’s definitely a plus to keeping within the budget. That flooring can always be extended when the carpet has outlived its quality. 🙂
Really nice job, looks so nice. All bran new, the kitchen is gorgeously. Do you hire out for other people? I know everyone is so happy with there new home, Good job.👍👍👍
love watching your videos it's like the ugly duckling turning into a swan you can make an old trailer look like a house I wish I had a son like you haha
Question how did you paint the walls…a lot of it looked like the mobile home vinyl wallpaper type finishes. Did you spray a primer or stain killing coat, followed by paint? Curious on the details…
Big improvements there. Did you put new insulation in the walls and under the floors? Those homes get very cold in the winter after critters destroy the insulation in the walls and under the floors.
The only place I put new insulation in was in the bathroom because it had gotten wet and moldy from the leaking bathroom window and probably the shower leaking as well. 😀
I am not at personal friend of the grey paint. But, it is the new neutral choice to beige. Mismatched appliances in the kitchen suck. For a rental house it cleaned up very nice.
Yes I buy mobile homes to fix up, this particular one was included when I purchased the mobile home park, I’m currently remodeling one right now that I purchased and moved into the park. Good question and thanks for stopping by.😀
I agree 100% i never put carpet in, but the previous tenants kept the carpet very nice and I couldn’t bring myself to rip it out, when it needs replacing I will definitely put laminate or something similar in, thanks for the comment, good day
If it’s that fiber board. I would usually replace it with 3/8 drywall but you could put some screws in it and then try to hide the screws with some bondo , plaster or compound. 😀
Looks great! but NO way would I have kept that carpet, its really gross. I would have run the vinyl/fakewood through the whole place and you could have even kept the tile in the hallway if you are trying to keep it cheap, but NOT the carpet. Carpet in general is gross because of all the dirt it collects, and old carpet with someone elses dirt in it is the worst. 🤭 Not trying to be rude, just an honest opinion.😬😀 One last thing is I like gray, but depending on whomoves in they may have more brown tone furniture, and if you go too dark with the gray paint it might not work with every ones taste. Lighter grays work best with every ones style. One last thing is when you go so dark with the gray and the contrast of the white beans in my opinion can date the look of the place. I like more neutral and lighter grays, but once again it's just my opinion. All in all the work you did was a huge improvement. 😁 Thank you for sharing !
Yeah I also don’t like carpet, it will definitely get changed out to a hard floor sooner than later, I just couldn’t bring myself to tear out floor coverings that were in very good condition, as for the color, everyone seems to love it so we have used it on multiple renovations. Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment. Good day to you.😀
Great job but the only thing is... no one wants to walk in with someone else's dirty, nasty carpet. It would have probably cost you maybe $300 to replace the floor in the living room and the other bedroom. The bar, that's just pure tacky. A new bar top and at least two chairs would have been much better.
yeah I don’t like carpet either, but it was not dirty and nasty it was in very good condition and I couldn’t bring myself to rip it out, maybe next time. thanks for the tips!
@@dianneperry2903 I still agree with you about carpet, we also rug doctored it and I believe it was as clean as any carpet that was not brand new, I will never install carpet in any house because I share the same ideas as you do, Good day.
Another cozy vintage home completely stripped of all warmth and charm and totally ruined. For the love of all that's holy, would you flippers please stop with the miserable gray gray gray gray graaayyyyyyyy
Where did the tenants go? I find it intrusive and disheartening you post the way they were living g and then post your work...which will make you a tremendous profit. Disgusting
They paid $500 rent which is extremely low for my area, they were fabulous people and we were sad to see them leave, they moved out of town closer to family, what is disgusting about this, also I’m not making a giant profit, rent is still $800 which is under market. I try to be good to people, my tenants are all wonderful people.
@@frugallandlord6974 Comments about "huge profits" and the displacing of tenants generally come from those who have never been a landlord. I owned rental units for a decade or so and would never do it again, due to the time and work involved. And the lack of comprehension on the part of non-landlords that owning income property is a JOB, and the bank will demand repayment on the massive loans taken out to purchase and renovate the property. My mother and I both worked full time outside jobs so we could afford to keep our units livable and our tenants happy. It's not easy money.
Correct, also the tenants moved to be close to family I didn’t even raise the rent on them even though it was way under market, not sure how I got accused of displacing them and price gouging lol.
@@chrisholiday775 thanks for the input, seems like you did a thorough job watching the video, much appreciated, yeah the hallway has paneling over the top of drywall, the home is factory drywall, it is meant to be low income housing just so you know, but I like to take a little pride and make it somewhere that I would live myself, maybe I could have taped and texted the drywall but I chose not to due to limited time. Thanks for the visit.😀
