I wrote and edited this for Chris for our four hour Daytona show which covered all the road racing plus supercross. Chris used to handle credentials at the old little bungalow by the turn 3 & 4 tunnel. He used to give me a hard time when I first started getting media credentials but softened over the years. We always had a nice chat in between our respective duties. I always respected his media skill set and road racing knowledge and for our 1986 show I felt CC would add a nice across the pond flavor to our show. So, what better than the International 250 event to best utilize his participation. To make the deal even sweeter for CC I decided to gift him a black MotoWorld jacket with his name on it. I made sure we ordered the right size and he was 'over the moon'. Getting racing type jackets to fit was relatively easy for me since I was not too far behind Chris in the waistline department. Long story short, after the jacket, the script and the check, Chris and I became simpatico and seeing his face every March became a pleasant annual ritual to raise the curtain on the racing season. I'm glad to have met and worked with Chris Carter. I have all the respect in the world for him and may he rest in pain free peace. He made his mark.
