The instrument cluster printed circuit boards are one of the areas that are often never considered or thought of because of what they are and where they're located on 1987-1993 Fox Body Mustangs. Well, if you have issues related to the cluster, the printed circuit board could potentially be the issue. Below is a rundown of the printed circuit boards.
The printed circuit boards move information through the vehicle relative to the circuitry that is within the instrument cluster. Problems you'll see from a damaged circuit board are: inaccurate or no reading from the gauges, cluster lighting issues, or alternator charging problems if the resistor is damaged or missing.
You'll see these sold as three options: a 1987-1989 primary board, 1987-1989 secondary board (GT only), and a 1990-1993 primary board. Each circuit board is specific to the cars originally equipped with a 5.0L engine.
