I grew up watching races outside the fence as a child. I lived on cotton wood st. The best memories of my life And there was trespassing involved. You know holes in the fence lol
I really love how many times “the last Riverside race” happened. 1983, 1987 and 1988 are the three I know of. It’s a shame it got torn down for some boring cookie cutter houses.
The pit crew member who was in critical condition was out of racing for awhile due to his injuries. He was replaced the following season by a guy named Mike Rich. Rich would be killed on pit road in 1990 at Atlanta. Rich was pinned between Elliott's car and a sliding Ricky Rudd car. He suffered massive head and upper body injuries. He died a few hours after unsuccessful surgery.
EARNHARDT! 1:36.08! TOP 5 ALLTIME passes! ONLY EARNHARDT. I cant believe that ones not on his hilite reel, BETTER than all star race pass in the grass. The man was NUTS
And then they had to build Sears Point now known as Sonoma. I wish Riverside still existed. It was in the Los Angeles area and it was also a famous road course for all race circuits.
How many people remember when Dale Earnhardt SR got caught with Richard Childers daughter. What she was 24? Dale got his daughter Taylor pregnant. What she was 13?
